Drug companies tend to sell drugs at near cost to third-world countries (apologies if that phrase is no longer PC). They recoup the development costs in developed nations who can afford to pay it...

true-plus in this country we pay a FLAT rate for all prescriptions which in many cases actually cost LESS than that-I have a friend who is a doctor and I get him to write private prescriptions for us because 9 times out of 10 the dispensing cost you pay with a private prescription is less than 7.90-go figure!

Does the £1 give a full course of drops or does the £1 go towards giving the course?

Not sure tbh-obviously there are meds which are expensive and a nhs prescription is better, but in most cases for the ones My wife and I have needed a private script has been cheaper-never needed insulin or inhalers or growth hormone as mentioned tho, wouldnt an nhs doc have to charge you for a private prescription? Im really not sure-just my personal experience that I have a friend nearby who is a doc and writes them for me,but obviously this isnt a solution for everyone. Does seem crazy that docs are writing prescriptions costing 7.90 which they know could be cheaper-I suppose the idea is that one subsidises another?

That would be down to whether you had a good doctor surely? I know the Lloyds Pharmacy I go to say if an item is cheaper buying over the counter.

my sister works in several pharmacys an she seems to think its a "rule" or something that the dispencer should tell you if you can purchase the item over the counter for less than paying for your 'script

This is my line of work.It annoys me when people moan about the price of the prescriptions.Let me tell you we input roughly 5000 a day and can assure you that almost all prescriptions cost a lot more than the flat rate. Some easily in there hundreds even a select few in there thousands. This is just for the appliances etc...We have it so easy here in UK

Just like all big charites 50p goes towards admin,10p goes on expenses,10p goes on wages,10p goes to lush charity hq building and investments,10p on advertising and the poor sods at the end of the line are lucky if the last 10p gets spent on them.

Only if you are blind or have a mind like a sewer.Have you looked at her profile to see the bigger picture?Nothing "oral" there at all.And yes, it has been said by a few other blind people too.

No, I haven't checked out her profile - I don't often check up on people online, stalking ain't my thing - However, the larger picture is still pretty suggestive in that sense - I'm fully aware of what it is, however first glance - and in fact continued looks suggest something else.

Yes, I do have a mind like a sewer, no I am not blind. However, I do have a sense of humour - it varies from top drawer to low brow - as a House watcher, you should be able to relate to both ends of the spectrum I would hope?

Apologies if my suggestive remark about said suggestive image offended or upset you.

I looked into that as I'm on 15mg of the damn stuff and it seems that its pennies for a pharmacy but the street value (its a class C drug controlled substance don't forget) is about £1 for each 10mg as its generally used by heroin addicts to help with come downs.
