I know I saw some posts about this in the past but I had n't realised that now sellers can only leave positive feedback for buyers on the basis this will be easier for buyers to leave neutral/negative feedback with no worries about getting negative feedback back!

Are they mad? This is only going to end in all sellers no mattre how good they are getting non positive feedback and buyers then being afraid to buy from anyone. Talk about shoot yourself in the foot ebay - unbelieveable!

ebay seem to be making it harder and harder for sellers to sell on their site, their fees to say the least are high and even royal mail seems to be against us.
One day when their profits start to fall then they will realise something needs to be changed. theyve got too big to care about the little guys anymore.

why not discuss it in one of the other open threads and keep it all in one place rather than have loads of threads all about the same thing?

It is a very strange decision by ebay, as a seller it does worry me a little although I guess if you do things correctly you should have nothing to worry about.

But given the amount of numpties on ebay there is always one that wants to spoil it.

I think a better way round it would have been not to disclose feedback until both parties had submitted theirs, thus retaliatory feedback could not happen.

but on the customers view point it is good though :D no neg feedback ever ;-) yet seller will get it ^-^

good idea...fed up with leaving negative due to poor goods and service and then getting negative feedback due to spite..

I understand that issue but on the other hand as a (non business) seller with over 100 sales with fantastic feedback I only need one idiot to leave neg and that is the whole repututaion gone.

I think the idea of not seeing feedback until both have left it is brilliant - much better idea.

As a seller with 1160 feedback (100%) I welcome the new rules on feedback. I recently purchased a phone charger for my daughter and it failed to turn up. The next day postage promised never happened and I had to use paypal to get my money back.

I wanted to neg the seller but he would have given me negative feedback. Under the new rules I can now do that. If you are a decent seller then you won't be badly affected, if you're a rip off artist, poor seller etc then your time is up.

You may not feel the same when someone has a slight complaint and leaves you a neg for very little reason and very little comback, as I said there is always one.

I worry that buyers will use it as a threatening tool given the fact that you can't give a neg back.

Saying that I think sellers worry far too much about negs, given 100 pos and 1 or 2 neg buyers will still purchase anyway.

I sold my xbox 360 on ebay...the buyer refused to pay for it and failed to aqnswer my emails :x. He has left me positive feedback but as a seller im no longer able to leave him negative feedback.
Wheres the logic in that????? :?

What is your problem? Do you want someone to report you to a moderator?

Not me I hasten to add - but some posters do report for the slightest rudeness

I guess you can still raise a UPI dispute for which they can be suspended after so many but if they are infrequent none payers then as you say wheres the logic?
