I hate ebay, i tried to sell something on there, and they thought someone else was trying to use my account and so have disabled my account, in the email they've sent me they've asked me to change my password, how can i when i cant access my account? I can't even contact them via 'contact us' (email) as once i again it takes me to the sign in page.

Any of you lovely lot have an ebay telephone contact?

Sounds like eBay have put their new security measures in place then.

Did you list from your normal ip address and have you made sure your contact number is correct on your account as if not then that's why they've done it.

Unless you are a high-level powerseller, there is no eBay telephone number.

according to the forum

Are you trying to log on using the link in the email, if so i WOULD NOT do this. It is possible it goes to some 'spoof' site that logs your password. Try using a normal link to ebay from google etc and logging in that way. I do not believe Ebay lock people out of their accounts, they just suspend them which means you cannot buy or sell.

As BurningFeetMan suggest, it might be a hoax email. If you have gone through the process, then you might have already locked yourself out (account highjacked). If anyone else gets emails from either eBay or PayPal, don't use the links in them, log on in the usual way. 99% of the time the emails are hoax.

Bit too stringent in this case

Glad you're sorted.
Do we have a post for useful telephone numbers?
Could be very handy.
Mods please note.
