Bought an item on ebay 2 weeks ago, seller said item was posted on a sunday(lol),then said he was going away on holidays and would refund me. Which he did but put a hold on the refund untill the end of this week. that will be 4 weeks waiting on item. The item a bought was for £55.00 and was needed for a gift, which is now too late because i cannot get the funds until this weekend and the item i bought was the one i wanted. i think the seller didn't like the price it was sold for so lied about posting it and just refund me. This has happent twice to me on ebay over the last couple of weeks. Why do people do this and is there a way of stopping them!

You can leave them negative feedback and report them to eBay, not a lot more that you can do to be honest.
I just go on feedback, pay promptly and send the seller a message saying that I'm looking forward to receiving it and will leave feeedback promptly, normally don't have any problems, but you can never be fully sure.
Some people use eBay like a short-term loan, they sell something, get the money, don't send the item, keep the money till after payday, a paypal dispute takes a while and then when forced to they send a refund. Also some people tell porkie-pies when an item goes for less than they hoped.

My local Post Office is open Sundays 10:30 till 4pm so dont jump to conclusion scoffing at them saying theyve posted it on a sunday - they may well have

How have they put a hold on it?? Paypal have put a temporary hold on many refunds Ive had, I think its usually a 4 day wait, might be 5, I forget.

Just leave negative feedback for them cancelling the sale, and lack of comms. The sunday posting is a wierd one, although is possible depending on your local services.
