Just trying to sell my first item on ebay and someone made a bid!!!!

What I do now????????

How do I know where to send it when the auction finishes?? Do I send it the minute the auction finishes or wait till the money arrives? Don't know how to use paypal so no idea how to even know if the money arrives!

Dino says send by recorded delivery so I know that much!!

Anyway doing snoopy dance cos it is just soooo exciting

Firstly i'd check the bidder out (just to make sure they aren't a scammer), when the auction finishes you'll get the sellers address, do you have a paypal account?

If you got Paypal, and you have inserted Paypal as a payment option in your listing when you listed the item, which you insert your paypal email address when you list then they likely pay by Paypal, not many send cheques or postal orders these days.If you not got a Paypal account set up its fairly easy to set up,and when you send your eBay invoice when the listing as ended you can add the Paypal email address in.
eBay have options in preferences to receive their email,I have mine set up so I get any question come through in my email box aswell as eBay message service. When you do get Paypal payment, you get an email in saying you been paid, you just log in and can see it there too.
Seller always gets paid then you send the item, thats the way it works or should do!

Thanks for advice! Yeh Dog cop I am getting over excited but blah to not allowing that! I have paypal set up and selected that as a payment method. Don't really understand paypal but I went through the motions! Guess I just wait now!

Your highest bidder, although pretty new seems OK. They are from Yorkshire.  :-D

I've been keeping an eye on it and checking your bidders out.

LOL Someone watching better than I was!! Okies it sold! Woowoooowoooppeee ;-). Probably gonna make a total of 50p ;-). Still better than it going in the bin!! Going to invoice them using the wee button ... stuck again already :|. I have to enter payment instructions ... so they pay by paypal to me? Do I give them the paypal details? Or does that information happen automatically through ebay???

I gonna go look for some more junk now :-D!

Ebay will send them a winning email with a payment link to Paypal straight away.
They may not be online just now so don't expect immediate payment. You will receive an email from paypal when they have paid.

If you are with paypal already the information is already there for the buyer, you don't have to add anything into the payment information box if you don't want to, I never do. Well done on your first sale

He he. I rarely use ebay - but had 4 items on the go that have just finished. Happy with the first (£150) and second one (£9) - but third was a bit naf (£2.20). Last one is relisted. Someone missed out on a 99p bargain! Still, the last 3 were going to be given to someone so they could sell it (for themselves) at a boot fair. Better in my wallet than theirs!

Well done on your sale - and dont forget not to send until you receive the payment!!!

Pppppppppfftttttt:roll:

Okies I sell for £1.71 + £2 postage .... quite good I thought!

So I go buy my jiffy bag £1.09, I go post £2.09, (total = £3.18) already it not looking so good ;-) ! Then my ebay fees about 50p and then some more money for using paypal about 30p. So net gain is negative!!!! Well really it was to build up my rep so all is not lost :whistling: .. .. goes to look at my super duper rep for being so generous .... no rep left ... not even a message to say they got the parcel!!!!:whistling:

Just as well I am into saving the environment:thumbsup:

Yeah, it's hard to make any profit on eBay these days...gone are the days of being able to sell your old tat and make a few quid profit, feels like you are best off just binning it!

TOP TIP - Save all your jiffys etc that you get your post in, being a HUKDer I am sure you are always ordering stuff online, right? I just reuse all mine, never had to buy any packaging in my life!

Yup, that's what I do.. And if the buyers don't like it you say it's so you can pass on the benefits of cheaper postage&packing to them :giggle:
