i listed a phone on ebay which sold for a decent amount, the buyer sent payement through an echeque which was suppost to clear 10th march. it came to 10th march and i checked paypal and it had been cancelled by the buyer.so i contacted the buyer who agreed to send payment again. which was another echeque, i cancelled this straight away.
then i sent dispute to cancel the transaction on ebay which the buyer agreed the transaction was cancelled.then the buyer sent a message that they will send payment tomorrow, which i never responded to but either way i never heard anything . i got this message through ebay at 23.59 just gone

HI I CAN SEE FROM PAYPAL ACCOUNT PAYMENT IS SENT TO YOU AND ITS CLEAR AND PAYPAL DEDUCT PAYMENT FFROM MY BANK ACOUNT;CAN YOU CONFIRM ME PLEASE IF YOU RECEIVE THE PAYMENT

i havent got anything in my paypal.could this buyer be trying a potential scam? also i cant find any way to report this to either ebay or paypal, please help

trying to con you ignore him

Don't ignore him, could be a clueless newbie.

Reply politely that you have received no payment from him and that the auction was cancelled by eBay.
If he has questions in regards to this he should contact Paypal/eBay himself.

The english in his email is a bit dodgy.....

[COLOR="Magenta"]You've waited long enough, relist phone and change buyer requiremets maybe?

I never accept e-cheques, take too long to clear..

Then file non payment with ebay to get FVF etc back

good luck

Before I forget it, don't use email - use the eBay messaging system. That way the messages are on file with eBay.

Out of curiosity, as the buyer got any feedback ?

i did relist it as a best offer, the phone has been paid for an sent.i sent the dispute to close the tranaction with ebay and the buyer agreed. the buyer has 20 feedback all for expensive phones that they've bought.

i only used ebay for the messaging and i asked the buyer to only contact me through ebay which they didnt. and the english in all the messages i got was poor.so a foriegner

when i was sent the original echeque there was a note with saying "could i send the phone by tomorrow" which i refused as the echeque wouldnt have cleared.

thanks everyone for helping clear my mind of doubt

what is the point in having communication with this person exactly?

the transaction has been mutually cancelled and the phone had been relisted and sold to someone else....

absolutely no point whatsoever:thumbsup:

Whether it was a con or a moron user is anyone's guess (I do happen to agree, this sounds like a con), a sale was started and should concluded properly.

If only to be able to say to a Paypal investigator that one did respond to communications.

the sale had been mutually terminated the op is under no obligation to carry on communications with the said person and pointless to do so

nothing to do with paypal
