Refund his money back and make some excuse.

Tell the ROI buyer you want to mutually withdraw, claim fees and relist.

Happened to me before, best thing to do is just send it, if it's not a big item it won't cost a lot more, especially if you send via Airmail.

some options :

1. Get the buyer to pay the additional postage costs.

2. Get the buyer to specify a UK delivery address.

3. Refund them and if they neg then request it to be removed.

4. Send it to them.

He's not paid yet, have emailed him to tell him not to bother.

Do I need to wait seven days to do this?

Now he's saying:

"No its to my brother who lives in the uk and has a verified paypal address,
its his birthday present, i've only just moved over from the uk myself."

But the ebay "send invoice" info says he stays in Galway?!?!?!

Doesn't matter then - as long as he pays and stipulates a UK postal address.

So as long as the payment comes from a verified UK Paypal address I should be good to go?

Send it to the UK address he supplies, but make sure you get it signed for. That way you both keep your ends of the contract. Verified addresses don't mean **** these days.

i,d wait a bit till he provideS his brother address in the UK (but document all communication). If he doesnt give a UK address, dont send the item, refund the money and claim fee from ebay, back your claim with the communications..

since youve already mentioned in your item desc, i think you are in a strong position

Will recorded be ok, or do I need to use special delivery? (£26 item, hardly worth it!)

And when did ebay become such a pain in the ass? :x

Sounds fine to me. I often get stuff in the US sent to our friends address in Florida. (Specifically to get round postal issues.)

What is the problem if he pays postage, so petty.
I have had a Australian and a Canadian and a Russian buy goods when it says UK only.
There money is just as good as long as you explain extra costs involved,:thumbsup::santa:

You don't post to any other address than what pp give you on the transaction page, if genuine he will have his bro's address as a gift address. Send to a different address you will forfeit seller protection.
The transaction page will give you the address and say whether the transaction is seller protection eligible, if it does fine, if not don't send signed or not:) especially to another address.......

a good point i overlooked

Looks like I'll run with it, thanks for the help guys!

Its still going to cost you International shipping rates though, if i send an item to Italy its the same price as sending it to the ROI, how much does it weigh Grex?

possibly cheaper than sending it to the uk though, depending on the size/weight!

Why all the fuss about postage to Ireland?! Especially when buyers pay!

if you read through all the replies, you'll get the idea that OP's concern is not only about postage cost

I don't give a damn if its petty or not.

If I say UK postage only, thats exactly what I mean, with no exceptions. I don't care how little extra it is, whos paying, or how little hassle it'll be for me.

I post UK only. Don't like it - don't buy. Simple as that, and if you are incapable of reading my listings, I wouldn't wanna sell to you full stop anyways :)

I'm the same - I won't send outside of mainland UK, the hassle just isn't worth it. Can;t people just use the ebay for their locale?

why cant ebay fix their systems so that if you only say UK buyers allowed, then outside bids get rejected?

Its not difficult!
