ebay help - never been in this situ before?

Sold an Item the other day. value around £200.

sent item yesterday. got an email from the ebayer saying 'address is incorrect, it is my old address please dont send'

too late i'd already sent it.

30 minutes later i get a call from UK mail advising that the package was refused at the address (luckily) and i have to get parcelmonkey to return it. Fair enough.

I wont get refunded for that attempted delivery obviously. So.. Will ebay make me pay for the delivery again or do I re-charge the buyer? I'd refuse to pay for it myself anyway.. I'd rather refund minus postage..
May seem silly but im confused sorta..

do not repost to an alternative address even if buyer repays for extra postage as you wont be covered
#2
If the address was the address associated with the paypal account then it is up to the buyer to refund you the cost and it would also be risky to send to another address as you would not be covered by paypal,

Should always send to Paypal address. As this is the address of the payment and should offer you more protection, if they decided to open a dispute

Yep you only get paypals seller protection if you send to the address on paypal.

You could message the buyer and say you want them to pay the postage but to be fair it was your mistake not theirs so you should cover the cost.

Ive got to admit that whenever i sell on ebay i use the address on ebay from the details tab, it never occurred to me that paypal might have a different address. But then again i know of people that have paid for someone elses item with their paypal. Will defo check both ebay and paypal addresses in future.
Hope you get it sorted either way.

He sent to the ebay address, buyer should pay for redelivery.
OP just send a message asking, if they refuse just refund minus postage.

Yes but you should always send to the paypal address, if the buyer opens a dispute they will win.

I thought you had to use the paypal address if they paid through paypal. I don't think you are covered if you don't.

Buyers already admitted through paypal its their mistake so i'd just email them with that message....
