Sold an xbox 360 game as used in excellent condition around end of November,
Got an e-mail today saying it's not loading and they need to clean the disc.
They tried that and now say it ain't working. If it goes to paypal resolution, what do you think the outcome would be.
Bearing in mind that it was working, and they haven't tried it until now (possible I suppose). Was thinking of asking them to return it and I would reimburse including postage.
The cynic in me is thinking that they bought the game, played it and are now looking to get their dosh back.

Please give me your views. I am totally fed up with ebay.

the ebay complaints keep coming and coming

they need to go on the same track as woolworths

if they paid with a credit card through ebay then they can clain all the money back and paypal wont do a thing about it :(
happened to me, i sold a psp 3 months later they did a claim back through their craditcard company, as they paid with a credit card via paypal they automatically got their money back and paypal wouldnt do anything about it.

if you have to i would ask for it back and loose on a bit of postage

If i were you I would ask them to return the item and refund them and check it yourself, then resell it otherwise chances are they are pulling a fast one, paypal will refund them and they will keep the xbox. I know cos this happened to me with an ipod and they got their money back and wouldnt send the ipod back!! Nothing much I could do. So good luck!!

it could have been bought as a xmas present, or they could have bought a 360 for kids present and games inc yours, so i would say completely possible it hadn't been tried till now.
You will most likely lose if it goes to paypal dispute unfortunately

the 45 days are not up yet. I know if I had bought it, I would have tested right away even if it was an xmas present.

Been in a similar situation just recently.
Sold a 360 game bought from an online retailer.
Never played it.Brand new and sealed.Decided to sell it on a few weeks before Christmas and got an email from the buyer. They said that the game was dirty, been played and had fingerprints all over the disc. They wanted a refund or replacement for a brand new copy.
It was sent sealed!,just as i had received it when i bought it.
They were somehow claiming that i had re-sealed!
It went to a dispute and of course Paypal protect buyers. It is now being returned.
The email that i received from Paypal was that the item must be sent back in the same condition that it was sent in.I sent Paypal an email a few days back asking how the buyer would be sending the game back 'in the same condition',when it has been opened.Still no reply
My point was that the game could have been played/copied/replaced.
As a seller, you cannot win with Paypal.

so you have i,
you cant give a duff christmas gift to kids, lol.

anyone in thier right mind would have tested it right away, especially when buying second hand.

i think they used it and abused it and now its messed up they want thier money back. it happens and one learns from it.

this is why i never buy used electrical items off ebay. its a MASSIVE risk, pay a pounds more and buy it from a shop!

hope it gets sorted out.

many thanks to all, responded asking for game back and I would reimburse postage.
Asked them to clean disk. Could be genuine as they have good feedback, but I know the game was working.
Was high age rated game so the kids were not near it to damage it in any way.
