Ebay help please!!

Just wondering if anyone could help me out please. I have just sold an item on ebay and they buyer paid instantly via paypal and is sending a family member to collect the item however the paypal transaction has the following notice on:

The money from the payment you received is being held temporarily for up to 21 days. During this time the money will show as pending and you won't be able to access it.

Your funds will be released after 21 days, providing your buyer hasn't reported any problems. We may be able to release the money sooner if we can confirm that the item was delivered or, if this is an eBay item, your buyer leaves you positive feedback.

To help speed up the process, please take the following steps:
1.Check below to see if this transaction is eligible for seller protection. For more information, see our tips on how to sell securely
2.Send to the buyer's address as stated on this page
3.If your item is over £150 please use a postage service which offers signature confirmation
4.Save all proof of postage, and email tracking information to your buyer

Im really concerned about handing over the item without having the money. What do you think?

Thanks

I put that i wanted cash on collection but ebay made me put paypal as an option so i cant really complain to the buyer.

That is normal and as soon as the buyer confirms that the item has been recieved it should be released. Usually happens for first time sellers or people with not much feedback. Hopefully that helped, good luck!

I have over 40 feedbacks (100% pos), my concern is that how do you prove that they collected it?

Tell them you wanted cash on collection, you may get a neg and a nps report, no biggie, better than being £xxx down and an item, do not, I repeat do not do it, read the thread above and ignore the to be quite frank stupid advice ITT saying you will be fine.

as already said return the payment immediately, tell them if they are collecting they can pay cash, if not allow them to pull out of the sale, it isnt worth the hassle

There was someone on here the other day who is now a few hundred pounds down after accepting payment for a tv via paypal and then allowing collection.

DO NOT let them collect the item. Say cash on collection ONLY!

do this, dont give them the item because there is always the chance that they will tell paypal that they have not received it and claim the money back. email the buyer and tell them that you will only accept cash on collection and to cancel the paypal payment

You will need an online proof of delivery AND signature to the paypal eligible for seller protection address.
