sold two pairs of adidas stan smith trainers, (seperate listings) both uk size 11 on tags, both sold to two seperate ebayers
2 weeks later i get the following email from the buyer of one pair of the trainers (bare in mind the other pair sold has been received and positive feedback left)
I recently brought the Adidas Stan Smith trainers
from yourself and stated on the e-bay page and by
yourself that they were size 11.
I my self am size 11 and the trainers were way to
small to be size 11 my dad tried them on and they
fitted him the problem is he is size 8 so there is
no way possible they could be size 11.
so the e-bay page gave incorrect and misleading
information, I would like to resolve this problem
due to the fact that I paid good money for them,
abiding by the information given by yourself.
so I would like to resolve this by a refund or in
a convenient way for the both of us other wise I
have no option but to contact e-bay obviously
nether of us would like it to come to this so I
will look forward to your reply within the next 24
to which i replied
please 1st off do do not say i provided incorrect or misleading information, as they state size 11 on the trainer so they was listed as size 11 i could hardly try them on first before sending could i for hygiene reason's also i sold two pairs of adidas that day both from the same shop the other customer has left be positive feedback and they was also a size 11, also can i ask why its taken over 14 days to contact me and let me no ? i do how ever understand that adidas can sometimes fit small as i myself suffer this problem, you state a refund or in a way conveniant for both of us is that stating you wish to ask for a part refund ?, i myself have contacted ebay to see where i stand but feel free to do the same. i always try to be 100% honest in my listing's but obviously you must understand i cannot say if an item will or wont fit a person over the internet i listed the item with the information i had in front of me
he has now replied
I can firstly agree to your statement which the
sizing of Adidas trainers can be different to what
stated I myself do suffer from having the problem
with many of brands such as Adidas but how ever
they are no where near size 11 like I said I got
my dad to try them on who is a size 8 and they
fitted him but they are not his style of shoe so
they are not any good. I can appreciate that you
went by the size stated within the trainer I
personally would have done the same thing.
the reason of me not being able to contact you is
because I myself have been on holiday and they
were a gift for me when I arrived home so as you
can appreciate none of my family were able to try
the trainers due to them being a smaller shoe size
so they could not know if they were size 11, they
to went by what the size stated in the shoe said.
and due to me being away at the time of purchase I
was incapable of trying them on.
as I said earlier hopefully this can be resolved I
look forward to your reply
i called ebay who said let them make a claim and then state your case as they cannot from there end see what more i could of said in the listing
what would you do ?
