I know someone on here can help me with this problem. I occasionally sell items on ebay and have sold an item to someone described as worn and with scuff marks. (some of my daughters old shoes). The purchaser paid £2.80 and i sent them. She has now told me she thinks they are fit for the bin and has asked for her money back which i will not do. I have 928 postive feedback
with a item as described as 4.9 out of five. I described this item as worn and now she has opened a dispute up with paypal. She has said that she has thrown the shoes in the bin and will get her money from me via paypal. Can she do this.

firstly if she wants a refund its paypal policy that she will have to return via trackable method (ie recorded delivery)
FIRST, so if she says shes thrown them in the bin its her hard luck sounds like shes trying her luck or buyers remorse, tell her to send them back as above AT HER COST thisusually puts them off lol

ps it doesn't matter about feedback either dont be scared to leave a neg if this women gets abusive 1 neg on you wont harm

She has 27 negative feedback and looking at this it looks like she bids and then decides not to pay etc. I have replied on the dispute on paypal that i will fight her all the way. I don't like being taken for a ride.

just email her what i said she is just trying it on then, did you have a returns policy?
i doubt she will post them back for £2.80 anyway

I sold a skirt on there a few mths back and buyer wasn't happy, said it was a bit too faded and worn,I just returned their payment,I couldn't be bothered with the hassle,it was only 99p or something plus postage.

No offense, but it's people like you who make people like that think it's OK to treat eBay like a shop and mess sellers about, they know that most people will think 'Oh it was only a few quid, I don't want a neg/the hassle so I will just give them what they want' :(

I'd take a negative any day over a 50p item if it meant not letting people take the p1ss!

I would refund but i am adamant that it was fair and if i sell something and a hole is found or something like that (that i had not mentioned) then i would. I don't think paypal will take up her claim as she says she has thrown them away and i think there is a policy about "worn" things. I feel so annoyed that this has spoilt my rep but I stand by what i believe.:x

tell her to take photos of the shoes then email them to you so you can inspect after that if your confident your in the right ignore her unless she does send them back paypal will do absolutely nothing unless she sends them back AT HER EXPENSE by trackable means, dont worry so much

agree 100% ebay is not m&s, buyersdo not realise the hassel and time it takes to list stuff on ebay not to mention the costs

I am totally p**sed off at paypal. They have now awarded my buyer the full refund just like that. No looking into it in their resolution centre. I have defended the claim twice and now i have received an email from them saying thankyou for offering the full refund to your buyer. I cannot believe this has happened without looking into this. I thought paypal was on the side of both parties but from my experience they have sided with the buyer and not taken anything i have said into account. She now has to send me the shoes back via trackable delivery. Does anyone know if recorded delivery is trackable or is it just special delivery that is trackable. If its special delivery then it will cost her at least £4.30 minimum.

Hum it's the sellers responsibilty to refund any return postage if the item is found to be faulty, so I wouldn't use this line.

I've blocked all people from bidding on my items who:
Have a feedback score of -1 or lower
Are currently winning or have bought 1 of my items in the last 10 days and have a feedback score of 4 or lower
Have received 2 Unpaid Item strikes in the last 30 days

After a bad experience.

This is my actual response from paypal
The buyer is responsible for postage and packing costs associated with the return. We have asked the buyer to confirm that they sent the item by providing tracking information.

The buyer’s deadline for responding to this case is 23 Oct. 2007. If the buyer does not respond by the deadline, the claim will automatically be cancelled. No further action is required of you at this time.

so its actually the buyer that pays the return postage.

yes buyer pays return postage she WILL have to return by tracked methods to prove she has sent it so in the long run she will be the one out of pocket lol you get your fees back so just relist and block her from bidding from anymore of your auctions

good luck

I just take my chance sometimes with things, cos at end of the day when a used item we all got different expectations.
I keep my eye out for vintage clothing, what I found popular in past was Adidas Zip Up Jackets, original ones, well 1 time I sold one on there and it was a bit stained,it was white and I couldn't do much with it,but I did say it was a bit stained etc anyway the buyer was really happy with it and like sent me a message after getting it how pleased he was,and I replied back saying yeh thanks, yeh wasn't sure if 2 sell it or not cos a bit stained, and he replied back that he didn't mind and it added character. So you might aswell take your chance. Obviously last time I had a buyer complain about a skirt and yeh it was somewhat faded but I just refunded cos I ain't got the time to worry over something like that and I just move onto the next sale.
