Anyone out there well up on the end costs for ebay sales please?
There is a guy local to me listing a camera with a buy it now @ £450.
How much would he get if this sells through ebay once his costs are deducted? - assuming it sells at buy it now price of £450.
I thought it is something like an 18% hit (after ebay & paypal costs). Am I correct?

That calc has been unrealiable for me recently for BIN items. Seems correct on auctions tho.

Buy it Now items charge only £10-£12ish.

If you put on auction, 10% Final Value Fee or cap at £40 max

@ tonyg1962 - hence the reason I asked the question - it's a minefield for those who are not in the know - thanks

No problems mate its just that anyone who asks always gets told anything from 10% to 20% by people who dont know,Ebay isnt as expensive as everyone says if you know what your are doing,

As an update; someone has bid at the starting price of £399, hence negating the £450 BIN price. By my reckoning, even with an end selling price of around £450, the seller will now take a £55 hit - wow!

What a silly seller. I saw something I liked which I valued at about £15-20 for collection. Had 6 days left on a 99p starting bid with £30 BIN.

All I needed to do was bid 99p and it's negated their unrealistic BIN price. I'm more than certain as an auction it won't go anywhere near that.

I looking at the same thing, £25 sting isn't much of a loss when they company is just listing on a big search engine from £450. Ouch.

Its not a £55 hit its 10% up to a maximum of £40, so he will have £40 in fees

£40 fees plus paypal costs of around £15 = £55 hit
