eBay - Open A Case yet?!

I bought 3 things from this seller. Despite having good feedback, I think they're pretty new at it. I asked them to combine postage (i.e. cheaper), and they increased it. They apologised and just said don't pay the full amount. Obviously I can't choose how much, so I paid the full amount and said they could refund me the difference between what I paid and the true postage costs.

3 weeks later... nothing. Emailed them last week, and they said 'Oh yeah, I posted it today. Included a postal order [for postage refund]'. Still not got it. No post takes a week does it? Should I send them another message or just open a case? Never needed to before...

Of course post can take a week,it's happened to me many a time.

You could have sent them funds via Paypal and as long as you selected it was an Ebay item and put the item number you still would have been covered rather than sending them too much money.

Ah, ok. Never paid through paypal directly. Will bear that in mind next time. It was only a couple of quid extra.

You have 45 days to make a Paypal claim,so there's no harm in waiting a few more days.

I've opened a case on one of the items, and messaged them explaining.

They've just messaged back saying wait until Monday. It shouldn't take more than 1 week to deliver something 1st class though.

I've said I'll see on Monday, and cancel if it arrives. If it doesn't arrive, I'll open cases on the other two aswell.

They won't be getting great feedback...

I sold on ebay to a woman who took a while to pay, then I was genuinely ill (keep getting tonsilitis) and she left me neutral feedback- I contacted her and told her I couldn't post the item out for a few days. When I checked hers, she had about 6 negs, about 8 neutrals and her stars were all 3 or below for selling! Mine was all 4.9 and slow delivery isn't usual for me, she ruined my perfect feedback and my good stars!! I hate dodgy buyers like that.

You're rather naive if you think parcels can't take a week to arrive, there's too many to mention, but my most recent stand out one,was a recorded delivery 1st class one sent to me that took two weeks to arrive,i kid you not.

One last week i sent took four days to arrive,so it's more common than you think.

Obviously you will get people fibbing, but RM aren't always very speedy,it's worth bearing that in mind.

To be fair,a lot of people don't get care whether you're ill or not, they simply want the item they have paid for.
We post out everything same day or next day depending when the person pays and we still get marked down for dispatch time, obviously because of RM being slow,we can't send them out any faster.
