Ebay Problem... Sellers unable to leave negagtive feedback

Ok, I have yet another problem on ebay lol.

With regards to a non paying buyer.

The buyer has not paid for an item, its now been over 2 weeks. In this space of time I received one email saying her paypal account isnt working and would hopefully be sorted soon. I gave her the benefit of the doubt and did not open an dispute and told her she could also pay by postal order.

So after no reply and 10 days after auction end, I opened a dispute.

Still not heard anything from her, so decided to look at her feedback and since the auction end she has received 5 positive feedbacks for quick payment.

Its obvious to me the buyer has changed her mind and has not replied in the dispute.

Now if it gets to after 7 days and she still does not reply, and I get my final value fee back, am I able to leave negative feedback for a non paying bidder??

What a total Joke.

This rule makes no sense what so ever. It gives buyers a total upper hand and basically they are allowed to do whatever they want.

I'll join your club.. they have got far to big for their boots and are now grabbing as much as they can to feed the fat cats.. the only thing you can do is vote with your feet and not sell anymore which is what i have done.. Why not sell on here instead.. at least it's free.;-)

Thats crazy,

I'm thinking Ebay will push their luck too far soon and a big competitor will appear. Surprised that hasn't happened already really

What happened with the dispute the buyer made over the shoes?

I decided to disagree with the claim and submitted additional info... the case is now "being reviewed by paypal"

We'll see!!

It seems I am getting scr**ed all over ebay recently lol.

oh i wish they would!! i think its disgusting the feedback issue. When i badly wnted to leave a neg for someone a while ago i didnt as they had so many they had made in retaliation-and the feedback effects my sales. I opened another account to use to buy in partners name. Now we have the star system and i had 4.9 4.9 4.8 4.9 after one feedback my postage goes to 4.7!!
I am just waiting fo my negs as I know buyers will just not even think twice now...

you can block ebay members with npb strikes on their account, but there is nothing to stop them from starting a new account :-(

I have a problem with ebay too. i bought a comfort blanket which was much needed for my daughter as she wont sleep without one and this is a spare. 1 week later a parcel arrived it was a singing teapot:???
I finally got a reply from them and they asked me to send it back but they wouldnt send me the item i want until they received the teapot. A cheek i though since it was their fault.
Well over two weeks later and STILL NO BLANKET:x

After my current transactions have finished then I'm stopping selling on ebay. Not worth the hassle.
Got a guy who first of all claimed the item I sent him was damaged then when I asked for pics to see the damage he has now filled out an item not recieved claim with paypal and I still havn't got any pics of the damage. Total waste of time as I'll no doubt get a neg and theres a good chance he'll get refunded anyway even though he has admitted he recieved the item.
The new rules have given buyers the freedom to literally take the p out of sellers and I'm sure ebay won't be happy until its just powersellers sending fake **** from china thats left.

yep i agree-i made an error once like this but asked the buyer to post it on for me-and paid them.
I did receive the wrong goods once and did the same for the seller-posted on for her-she didnt reimburse me:x
I hope you get your blanket and leave a very good explanation of why she got a neg:thumbsup:

mmm and there is a lot of that around:oops:
Its taken all the fun out of it...and i feel i dont want to sell on there-i used to have confidence-but now i would never sell anthing of value unless it was collected from my home, bank transfer or cheque-def no paypal!

How awful, 2 weeks of sleepless nights then for you?

She should have sent you the money to post it on for her then done the same with the person who received your blanket!

Well i have been wondering if i will get a p&p refund but instead of asking straight out if she was paying i asked her how she wanted me to return it, ie. 1st class 2nd class. The last contact was me sending a message to say i had sent it and how much it cost but i havent heard anymore from them. I may email them again tomorrow.

Agreed,

The new rules just allow buyers to treat sellers badly over the slightest thing. As per my previous posts I had a mistake with a few of my items Id sold, They were supposed to be sent recorded delivery and the OH posted them standard mail. I wrote a nice email to all of the customers and refunded them all £1.00 each apart from one person who has bought boots. I refunded the boot lady £2.00, even though recorded delivery only costs an extra 70p or something. She paid £5.50 for postage. The boot lady went nuts at me for only giving a £2.00 refund and started saying things like "oh if i ever get the boots, i'll let you know" and "if they have even been sent".
I found this so rude, especially after I had went out my way to apologise for the mistake. Some sellers wouldnt have bothered!!

Oh i hope she hadnt send the blanket to another person, i dont think i will ever get it then. I never thought of that i just assumed the blanket was still at the warehouse. If it had of been me, out of good gesture i would have hoped the person sent back the teapot and sent the blanket by way of an apologie. The teapot couldnt have been worth more than a couple of quid anyway.
Luckily i have a blanket identical to the one i ordered but i need one as a spare because if i do lose the one i have then i will have endless nights
Has anyone else got a taggie blanket they want to get rid of. I may get it quicker than this one?

Ebay have destroyed the fundamental essence of the site by not allowing Negative feedbacks by sellers.Surely a simple feedback system i.e "Item not paid for/pulled out of sale" tick box would help sellers.... It's not really Negative but let's others know this buyer has a habit of changing their mind :whistling:

I agree that it doesnt work the system they have now as the seller i am annoyed with above had pretty good feedback but then when you read the comments it says positive but then what they wrote is quite negative.

A few years ago now (October 2006), but I had a similar issue with receiving something I hadn't asked for & not receiving the item I did win (and paid for).

I won an auction for a "Scooby Doo! Who's Watching Who?" Nintendo DS title from eBay seller "911games". I paid by PayPal.

The package from the seller arrived fairly quickly, but I was sent the PSP version instead of the DS version.
I e-mailed a few times to enquire how we were to progress [stating that I was not keen to pay for postage to send it back, and then another £ 3.50 for despatch of the correct format, as was requested by the seller], but I never received a reply.

I subsequently lodged a PayPal dispute in this respect.

A few days later (29 October 2006) I won another auction for "FIFA 07", again on the Nintendo DS. This time with eBay seller "totalgamez". And again, I paid by PayPal.

After a few failed attempts to contact the seller to enquiry on an anticipated despatch/delivery date, I received a message (23 November 2006) from eBay telling me that all the seller's active listings had been removed & eBay had "suspended the seller's trading privileges".

On the same day, I received a similar "Important Message from eBay Loss Prevention Department" e-mail stating the same outcome with regards the seller "911games".

So I lodged another PayPal dispute.

It transpires that "911games" & "totalgamez" were the same seller, and also used (maybe still use?) the alias "TOTALFUNZ".

To be fair, I have won two previous auctions (from "totalgamez") & they did supply perfectly (in a prompt time & with the correct format).

But to cut a very long story short, I never received the DS titles I paid for, and I as further out of pocket sending the incorrect format (PSP) back to the seller.

I sent the PSP format title back by Recorded Delivery, but the Royal Mail couldn’t produce a signature or evidence that the package made it to the destination, and PayPal wouldn’t accept I had sent it back without the Royal Mail “track’n’trace” web page showing what they wanted to see. The Royal Mail couldn’t (or wouldn’t) update the “track’n’trace” information to PayPal’s satisfaction, but to them the package had arrived so I couldn’t make a claim!?!

My advice would be, as you have done, continue to keep the incorrect item until you receive the correct one; especially if it is worth more & you can re-sell on later if need be to try to recoup some of the costs back again.

I also have a 'do' with PayPal earlier this year from a sale here at HotUKDeals.
I was down a PS3 title, a refund, and postal costs there as well.
PayPal filed in favour of the buyer, and didn't listen to my submissions (so it seemed). I bent over backwards to try to help, and still got fleeced! :(

I couldn't even refund the payment initially as PayPal suspended my account. Some very kind HotUKDeals members offered to help, and one did indeed lend me the payment to refund the buyer so that my PayPal account could be reactivated.

You don’t get this community spirit with eBay sellers!

Check out the (current) last comment #121 in the thread.

(I have deliberately not mentioned anybody’s user names here to not embarrass them)

Although trudging to the bank to pay in cash is a pain, I am glad I am giving less & less business to PayPal (ultimately eBay) now.

I would imagine that nobody has taken on eBay successfully yet as they have probably have so many patents registered about online auctions that there isn't a foothold for a competitor to make any ground with.

(Mixed metaphors, I know, but you get the drift, I hope)

Sorry, I just read that back after posting & realised how much I typed.

Basically, eBay & PayPal are not interested in listening to reason when resolving problems.

:)

You could always quote a http:// URL link to your own site/blog etc in the feedback text & post a full account of the issues you'd had with the buyer.

A buyer has just left me negative feedback for the first time and its sooo frustrating as the buyer clearly didnt read the listing and just bought it based on the title and I cant do anything about it.

I actually hate ebay, I am soo angry!!
