Ebay problem (sort of)

I ordered something bulky from ebay and had it delivered, but when opening the box found a couple of items damaged so emailed the seller who (fair play to him) organised a replacement set to be couriered out and delivered the next day which I got, however he said he'd arranged for the courier to collect the old one at the same time but the courier knew nothing of this, if he was to arrange the courier again it would involve a day of waiting for them and another wasted day.

The item was a mower/strimmer/hedge cutters triple pack - the mower roller had a chunk missing and the hedge cutters hand shield cracked off.

What would you do?
Where do I stand?
Surely its not on I have to waste a day waiting in due to their cock up?

email them and tell them thats two days you have had to wait in, and tell them a day you will be in so they can arrange it for a day suitable for you

CAn you take it to the courior depot if its near?

The seller has been very fair and sent the replacement asap without any hassle so do the right thing but stress to the seller that you will only be in at certain times.

How about you ask him to pay you the postage and you post it for him?

Bit of trouble for you but returning it is in your hands then rather been directed from the seller.

wait for the seller or the courier to contact you, it's their problem now, all you have to do is keep the goods ready for collection, you may find they won't bother with the collection, what's the point if they are damaged? depends on what they are worth
