Ebay query

Wondering if anybody could help?
I sold an item on ebay which wasn't paid for. I opened a dispute, got an email to say they'd pay the next day, which they didn't and eventually closed the dispute after the 8 days and no more contact despite more emails and gave the buyer a unpaid item strike.
However, i've JUST relisted the item about 10 minutes ago, gone to check my email and the damn buyer has now paid for the item via paypal, saying they had 'paypal problems and were very busy'
What on earth do i do now and how has the buyer managed to pay for an item they've got a unpaid strike for and i've had my final value fee back for??
Any help would be most appreciated :)

as they hadnt paid for the item and you have put an unpaid bidder alert on them then you are not obliged to sell the item to them if you dont want to. you would have to refund them their money if you dont want to send it to them or you can cancel your auction and send it in a week or so :)

You can either end the item you have just relisted and send the item as its now paid for, or you can just refund the payment through paypal stating you have relisted and block him from bidding again. He may of used the send payment button on paypal to pay you instead of going through ebay to pay. Sounds a bit dodgy but up to you. I personally would refund the payment and keep it up for sale.

Thanks guys. I've checked and the payment is definitely in paypal from a confirmed address (albeit in bloomin Italy) I just wasn't sure how on earth he'd managed to pay and seems to have ignored all the emails and notices from ebay. I think i've already added him to my blocked bidders list already. If i decide to refund the payment and keep it relisted, any idea if i can block him from physically paying via paypal again, as i don't want to end up going in circles if i do?

Take The Money And Ignore Him Keep Your Item For Sale Aswell, When You Have Sold It And Got The Money From Another Buyer Then Refund Him, Give Him A Taste Of His Own Medicine, He Will Probably Do A Chargeback On You And Screw You Over Anyway If You Send It Him.

Think i'm going to refund him and leave it relisted. Would he be able to leave negative feedback if i did this?

I would not send anything to Italy again, I sold a few hundred M/cycle helmet visors some years ago and the only problems I had was with Italian addresses, refund the money and sell to UK only. You will send it off and it will 'never' arrive and you will ahve another Paypal dispute only this time against you....

if he leaves you a negative you can contact ebay to get it removed, why blemish a perfect feedback? dont bother to leave him feedback as it will just show as a positive for people who dont read all the feedback and just check the % and you cant leave negative as a seller anymore but the non paying bidder alert should put other sellers off him anyway hopefully

If he didn't respond to the dispute then he can't neg you, ebay automatically removes feedback from non-payers who don't respond to a dispute and try to leave neg.

Make sure you add him to your blocked buyers list otherwise he could bid on your new listing.

I had a similar thing happen to me, sold a ps 2 game, on 30th aug, after 7 days no payment so did a dispute and ebay let me close the case after a further 7 days as the buyer didnt respond so i got my final fee back and relisted it. then on the 25th of sept i received an paypal payment from the buyer, not via ebay but direct through paypal, I was unsure what to do incase she left me a negative if i refunded money, so my husband told me to send game and as i had no bidders on the relisted game i ended it. So im hoping she recieves it and thats the end to it, she is in the uk tho unlike your buyer.

Looks like they shouldn't be able to neg you anyway
