ebay question

Hia,

Just after some advice really, I sold something on ebay on the 14th & have not heard anything from the buyer, I have mailed them but don't know if they are posting a cheque or paying by paypal or what?

How long would you leave it for before you email them again then start a no payment option, it seems odd as they have 600 feedback and 99.5% positive?

It says I can do a 2nd chance offer do I have to wait a while first?

Cheers,
Steve.

You can't do a second chance offer at the moment as it's only been two days.

Send them another email and ask if they've sent payment, you can't launch a NPD until 7 days have passed.
Try and be patient :)

Juliet_bravo is spot on - and most do pay eventually. You can also check their feedback - if the have nought you may have more cause to worry (but not always), but if they have a few previous positive transactions I would not worry and just drop a gentle polite email.

You Should Have Stated A Time Limit For Payment On The Listing. I Found This Out The Hard Way. Give The Buyer 1 Week Then Send Them An Email Saying That You Forgot To State That You Have A 1 Week Deadline For Payment. I Hope This Helps And Good Luck.:)

You can do a second chance offer straight away. The NPB report has to wait 7 days though.

What is going on with all the capitals? Isn't it harder to type like that? It is certainly harder to read... :-D

I like other buy and sell on eBay.
There are times where people do bid in advance using either eBay or an auction snipper site such as Stealthbid (I tend to use this to secure bargains), overlooking that they are away from home when the auction endsr. There is also the possibility that they have gone on their jollies :p.
Of course look at the buyers feedback to comments relating to their past conduct.
if their feedback number is in the single figures and shows low value transactions then I would be concerned, but high feedback rating, good %, then send a reminder every 5 days until 14 days has passed, then issue a non-payer report

Yeah, then you'd have two buyers, possibly two payments, and only one item.

lol - thanks, I think it's just that with paypal I tend to expect payment straight away, I buy quite a bit off ebay but don't sell much at all & when I buy something at the end of the auction I pay straight away - doesn't seem much point waiting?

I'll wait the 7 days then do something.

The only thing I put on the auction was

'If your bid is successful please email me as soon as possible to discuss collection or payment.'

which I think is ebay standard? Then I mailed them at the end of the auction to ask if they would be paying via paypal or cheque and confirmed the total ammount.

Thanks for the help guys.

My OH re-invoices if it hits 4 days without payment stating "Please make payment or contact within the next 72 hours" & then if this fails the deadline coincides with your 7 day threshold for filing a Non-payer on 'em.
It's amazing how many people who haven't paid up to that point suddenly 'remember' to sort it out!!?!?

That is good advice.
