Hi,

You cant hide you name and address when you have purchased or sold something, why would you want to anyway?? no one sees the information apart from the person you have sold or bought from??

When i've bought items the sellers address isn't listed so i have to email and ask them for it, this is how i would like my account.

how are they to know where to send the item to you then?

you wont get the sellers address unless you chose the option to send payment by post

I am a seller on eBay and cannot understand why you would have a problem with a buyer knowing your address if you are confident in what you are selling?

Also if you are a business, it is a legal obligation to display your company name and FULL address either on your listing, a ME page or somewhere no more than one click away from the listing.

Thanks for the replies, reason being i won a laptop earlier and the seller was messing me about, telling me to pay via paypal which included postage costs even though i wanted to collect and pay cash to save postage, i know he's local but cant see his address but he now has mine

I wouldn't trust someone not showing their address, simple as. If you pay through Paypal its displayed in there as well though.

Something didn't seem right, maybe i'm just being paranoid, but i first emailed him and said can i have an address as i would like to collect and pay cash, he then sends me an invoice to pay full price with postage, i ignored it, then 5 mins later got another email saying you can collect but pay me first, i said i cant pay as the price is including postage and i'm not paying postage i'm collecting, then another email 5 mins later, ok pay me when you collect i'll have it packaged up, i said i dont want it packaged i want to see what i'm buying before i hand over the money, he then says sorry i haven't the time to show you the item.

I didn't reply for a few hours but have since asked for his address and to leave the item unpackaged, no reply as yet
