Ebay question: seller wants to cancel transaction

Hi,

I would need some ebay advise - can't find anything in the help section on ebay.

I have bought an item off ebay from Germany. Immediately after I received the invoice I paid via bank transfer (paypal is much less common in German). An hour or so later I received an 'invoice reminder' with double the postage cost. I sent a message to the vendor who explained that she got the postage wrong and that I have to pay the double now. To which I replied that this was certainly not acceptable and that this was simply her problem. She didn't agree and proposed to refund me and cancel the transaction.
Fine with me but now she has sent an request from ebay to cancel the transaction so that she gets her ebay fees back. If I do accept that request, can I still leave feedback (I want to warn other potential buyers)?

Thanks for your adice!

Thanks! Yes, was planning to leave feedback. As to reporting, not sure if Ebay ever does anything about that...

Curiosity kills the cat...

a shredder (so not a high value item - the extra postage cost would have increased the total cost by 20% - already the original postage was not cheap)

The other person may just do this when they aren't happy with the final price and want to re-list it. Make sure you leave feedback.

I'm tempted, but first I want to see the money back on my account... probably will just leave it at negative feedback (am I too nice?). Just wanted to first make sure that I can if I agree on the cancelation.

Yes, it was the price of the international postage that she decided was not high enough afer all.

I don't know if its true but even if. I remember it happened to me once that I had an item for sale for pickup only and somebody asked to for postage so I checked on parceltogo or something like that, but there the price was quoted without VAT which I didn't notice. So in the end the 2 or 3 Pound for VAT came out of my pocket, as I wouldn't have found it fair to charge this to the buyer, it was my fault after all.

No. you are not being too nice at all! :w00t:

I wouldnt even leave negative feedback either as seller made an honest mistake. I would leave a neutral.
