Im really angry with ebay , i was selling an item and it was at £400 ,for some reason unknown to me its been removed ...im so mad its a joke.

I put my own picture up as well as one from the website it was brought from , could it be this?

only reason i did it because my camera is lame and wanted to so it in clear light , as its stil brand new, i am not happy with ebay as i had 30 watchers and at £400 ....if ebay had some sort of problem with it why not email me or remove picture if its a problem, i was going to get rid of this before Xmas but obviously i cant do that now cause of the idiot people at ebay.

What makes me laugh is there quick enough to let scum bags sell weapons and fake goods but take a geniune item off grrrrrrrrrr

You will have been given a reason. Look in your ebay messages. Was it a VeRO removal?
Did you ask for 'cash' in the listing?

No it was not for a games console , it was not anything untoward either.

I request either delivery or collection and pay by paypal.

i have no emails from ebay and i dont have any messages in my ebay account , so im confused as to whats happened

whats a Vero removal?
#9
A-n-d-y have you ever annoyed someone on ebay before? given someone, however small, an excuse to want to screw up your listings?

I say this as I have known people had their items destroyed by bidders bidding silly prices etc. So wonder if someone complained about your listing.
#10
Only one person ,but i wasnt nasty ..he was just a bad ebayer ...sometimes im unsure if to give people bad feedback for this very reason.

I am not happy with ebay just ending my listing and not even telling me , now people watching the auction may think im to be avoided or something grrr

I admit i used one picture of the manufacturer website but the rest were my own , do you think maybe this could be it? if so i cant understand why ebay just didnt remove the picture and keep mine ones on?

the item was below what i paid for it at £400 so it wasnt like the price was ott

I was hoping for some extra money for Xmas but looks like ebay as spoiled that ........grr ...target people who sell fake goods not people like me who dont con anyone....i have 100% feedback and i dont shill bid like some sellers...so much for being honest ...probaby have to be a crook these days for ebay to be happy with you.

Can I rudely interrupt and question what on earth gives the morons on this planet the rights to live? I was damn hungry earlier and decided to make a pitstop at KFC and wasted twenty minutes of my life watching people being complete ********s with no life. Where do they come from?

Information for eBay users
While trading goods on eBay, it is important that the intellectual property rights (such as copyright, trademark or patent rights) of the legitimate rights owners are respected.

To better guide you on this, we have provided you with frequently asked questions, details of eBay policies and other guidelines listed below. By honouring these policies and guidelines, you will contribute to building a safe and enjoyable marketplace to trade.

Spend a few minutes taking eBay's tutorial on Intellectual Property Policies and VeRO.
http://pages.ebay.co.uk/vero/infoforusers.html

Basically, VeRO acts on counterfeit and copied listings. If you are selling 'chipped', 'modded', pirate DVD's etc they will remove the listing.

If you mentioned 'cash' in the payment option ebays automatic search filter will pick that up and your listing will be removed.
I have never know an item getting removed for using a picture that is available on the 'net' I don't think that is the reason.
Anyway, ebay will not tamper with your listings to make them 'legal'.

You have not said what this item was, WHY?
Do you have the right email address registered with ebay? They will have sent an email.

Either way, you will have received an 'alert' in your ebay messages about this item.

What the .....????

I've sold a handful of things which were pickup only cash accepted mentioned in the listing without that rubbish, that can't be a total and global policy, not a large percentage i'm sure but alot of stuff sells via pickup and cash surely?

They do if someone complains; its copyright infringement and is against ebay listing policy.
If you copy someone else's listing, or copy text or photographs from any other place (depending upon how much is copied), you may be infringing someone's copyright.

This is correct.
Furthermore, anyone bidding on the item would also have received a message from ebay advising that eBay had pulled the item and it was therefore no longer available.

If 'pick up' is an option then asking for 'cash' is fine.
If you put 'payment by 'cash in an envelope' etc then that is not.

http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/payment.html
Not recommended
Payment by cash is not recommended by eBay. While sellers may offer the option to pay with cash, they cannot require you to pay this way. If you suspect a seller may be trying to commit fraud by insisting on payment by cash only, refuse and report the member to eBay.
Risks
• Not Traceable
• No way to prove payment was made.
• No protection against loss or theft in the mail.
• Not covered by eBay's Standard Purchase Protection Programme.

Policy
Permitted on eBay
Sellers may offer to accept PayPal, credit cards including Mastercard/Visa /Amex, debit cards and bank electronic payments online for eBay purchases. Sellers may also offer to accept bank-to-bank transfers, often known as bank wire transfers or bank cash transfers. Sellers may accept COD (cash on delivery) or cash for in person transactions. Sellers may offer to accept personal cheques, postal orders. Banker’s drafts, certified cheques and other negotiable instruments. Please see the “Some Examples” section of this policy for those evaluated payment services permitted in the eBay marketplace.
Not permitted on eBay
Sellers may not solicit buyers to mail cash. Sellers may not ask buyers to send cash through instant money transfer services (non-bank, point-to-point cash transfers) such as Western Union or Moneygram. Sellers may not solicit payment through “topping off” of a seller’s pre-paid credit or debit card. Finally, sellers may not request payment through online payment methods not specifically permitted in this policy. Please see the “Some Examples” section of this policy for those evaluated payment services not permitted in the eBay marketplace.
The use of Instant Money Transfers as a payment method is not allowed on eBay.co.uk. We have banned the use of Instant Money Transfers as a payment method on the eBay.co.uk site to protect members, because in the past some sellers have exploited Instant Money Transfers in order to defraud buyers.

I doubt it, unless the manufacturer (copyright holder) saw the picture and complained, but it may depend on the item/manufacturer. If it is one of the items that is often counterfeited and therefore comes under close scrutiny by eBay, then they may review the item and pull it for copyright reasons. Alternatively, the person they annoyed may have spotted the picture (especially if linked to directly rather than re-hosted) and complained.
(Some people have far too much time on their hands!)
Or if it was a small manufacturer and the item was receiving a lot of viewings, the manufacturer may have spotted the theft of bandwidth if the picture was linked to directly.

There are 101 possible reasons for the item being pulled (including an error on ebay's part). The only way to be certain is for the OP to check their eBay messages and find out the reason given by eBay. If, as the OP asserts, eBay has not given a message then they should question eBay on this.

If the OP disputes the reason, they should refer back to eBay. In my experience eBay are very apologetic to the any error or over zealousness on their part (and will notate the account accordingly so that there are no 'strikes' against the account). However, once pulled an item will not be reinstated but the OP can list the item again.
Fees are often (but not always) refunded when an item is pulled by eBay. Obviously if it was a mistake by eBay they will always refund listing fees.

I doubled checked no messages from ebay , i messaged them and waiting a reply.

They refunded my listing fee but there is no sign of my auction in my unsold items or anywhere on my account so im going to have to do it all over again.

Hopefully Ebay can get back to me soon and explain why it was pulled.

Andy, why not go HERE, and click on the Live Help link, and ask them, online?
    #20
Andy, you really need to understand why ebay pulled the item before you list it again else there is a risk they'll pull it again. If they do that they may not refund your listing fees the second time or worse still may suspend your account.

When ebay pull an item, it does disappear completely. However if you can convince them the item was pulled in error, it will be available to view again (albeit as a closed item) so you can copy the description.

    Good luck :)

Thanks for that guys i didnt know ebay had live help , i went on live help and i was just told :

I've checked your account. I'm afraid I can't assist you any further with this at the moment, because this Live Help is dedicated to helping members with account security queries.

I am really mad , i relisted my item and now they have closed that one down , i used all my own pictures this time.

I got a reply from ebay and they claim :

We removed your listing because the intellectual property owner notified
us, by a signed statement, that your item was infringing their
copyright, trade mark, or other rights. When we receive these requests
from verified rights owners we are obligated to remove the listings they
specify. We have credited all associated listing fees to your account

Can they do this , its my item , i own it and all the pictures are mine on my second listing

Quite frankly im sick of it now ,and i will sell it else where.

They claim they were sent an email and if i want to contact the people who sent them it they gave me a yahoo email adddress , which to me looked faked.

The manufacturer does not even have a yahoo email address????

    VeRO removal.
I've had many an argument with them.

The email address will be right.

Without more info on the item you are trying to list I cannot tell you the actual problem. It IS something in the title that has alerted them to your item.
