Ok - I placed an offer on a BIN/Best offer auction. It was for just over 1/2 the seller's inflated BIN price.

Response this morning: declined with the message F**k You. Nice, glad I'm not dealing with the seller if that's how they respond to a potential buyer.

I had to too. Unrealistic BIN price sort of invites offers that are going to be lower that the seller expects. 3rd time they re-llisted it I think.

Yes but lower isn't half price.

In the past i have felt like telling people where to go when they offer ridiculously low offers,i'd never do it in a million years but sometimes you feel like doing it !

I started adding the lowest price i'd accept so extremely low offers were automatically rejected so i didn't have to put up with chancers:-D

C'mon, name & shame, item number ?

Dont think OP will show item number as it will show how much of an insult there offer was,
#17
If you're talking about rude e-mails you want to try listing something on Freecycle and see the response you get.

Hahaha, had to laugh at this thread, I was selling a bike on fleabay on the weekend and someone put in a best offer which was 40% of the BIN price, they got a response not unlike the one the op received :-D

Have to agree, I only usually put kids clothes on there but have some items (and this is just an example) at like £14.99 and someone's offered £8.00, I mean come on, there's an offer and there's an offer and people shouldn't take the p**s without expecting this kind of reply, it's only an inflated BIN price in your opinion and to someone else may be considered a bargain.

On the flip side though, I've also had loads of BIN items where someone's paid the full price without submitting an offer at all - what's that all about?

Don't think I've mentioned it on here before, although it is possible. But whenever I list stuff to give away I get no end of e-mails just saying "I'll have it" - err, no you won't mate, not without a "please".

I'm considering whether I should name and shame. I've reported them though. No need for it.

I've also listed on BIN and been the seller in similar position re offers - i wouldn't dream of sending an f-off response, just what I'd be prepared to go down to. It's a negotiation after all and the 3rd time re-listing means it's not shifting for a reason. It's a fluid marketplace, it's only worth what someone is prepared to pay - as it is they're listing at the same price a legitimate shop will supply it at - so why would I take the risk with Ebay unless the seller lowers the price?

I've already considered asking everyone I know with an account to bid about 1/4 of the listing price. :-D

I think he got himself suspended for the juvenile comment.I didn't complain, but my response was also removed.

To return to subject, it was an industrial power tool.
