ebay scam be carefull

i sold my expensive 60" TV on ebay, the buyer wanted to collect on Friday but I was busy on the weekend he phoned me to say he'd call again on Sunday... no calls , then on Monday night i checked his feedback again it had risen by lots of new positives...saying they'd been defrauded.

What he was doing was paying via paypal then collecting. For the seller to get his money he needs to give positive feedback and then wait for the money to get into the bank. He was using stolen paypal accounts to pay. He bought more than 10 TVs in a few days!
I contacted some of the buyers and they told me their problems
So paypal protects you? NOT if the buyer collects!
Lucky I still have my TV i wanted cash on collection so I don't understand how he was going to take it from me
Ebay now charges 10% + listing fees + paypal fees
ebay sellers cant leave negative feedback ("to promote a welcoming space for buyers"ebay ) so if you want to tell people you've been defrauded you still have to leave positive!

Yep. This is actually a variant of the scam where the buyer pays with Paypal and collects in person, and then files an Item Not Received complaint with eBay. The seller, of course, has no proof that they gave the buyer the item in person, and you're only eligible for eBay buyer protection if you use a signed-for mail service. It's been going on for a long time, and eBay don't seem particularly interested in making it stop, since it makes them money.

YES.. be VERY careful with Fleabay.. I got scammed on there and will never give Paypal or Ebay one single penny of mine ever again.

i have been told not to re-list for at least 4days (from the date I 'opened a non-payment case) "in case the buyer complains I have not completed the sale"!
the £47 ebay fees are due now , I can afford them but I so cheeky I need to wait a few weeks to get that back!

i agree, but... if u force the buyer to pay cash u break the ebaylaw,
film the buyer coming to your house and try to record the registration number, i have bought and sold loadsa things on ebay other the years and most people are honest and friendly. There is limited help from the police and ebay just giggle at you

Invite him to pick up this weekend and then tell all the other sellers where he will be and at what time.
