eBay scam - what have I missed?

I've seen this car on eBay. It's a car with a second hand value of 7 grand. These cars tend to go for 6-7k on eBay. The guy on there is selling it for 1500 quid. Seems a bit too good to be true. I enquired about it a few weeks back and he said he had someone else interested in the car and he'd get back to me if the deal falls through.

Today I get this... Sounds a bit fishy, no?

---------

Hello,
The possible buyer I had was a time waster - so the car is still for sale... you can still buy it for 1500 quid.
The car I'm selling is in excellent condition, no damage, no engine problems, garage kept, HPI clear (no finance,no accidents) and it will come with all the needed documents!
I am selling this car for £1500 including delivery anywhere in the UK. The price is so low because I need cash for a family emergency. I have to tell you that I'm currently out of town with some major problems so pick up/view isn't an option. Sorry about that... Hope you will understand... However, before any delivery can be done we have to start the transaction on eBay so we can be both protected. If you want to buy this car email me back with your full name and address to start the official procedure on eBay. Once the requested details will be provided, eBay will contact you with ALL the info regarding delivery, purchase protection (free eBay Vehicle purchase protection offered), payment and refund policy so please provide your details before any other questions. You will find 90% of answers in the info eBay will send you. Will wait to hear from you.
Thank you!

So he wants you to send him money, and then he will deliver the car rather than you pick it up. And you are wanting advice? Are you serious?

Yeah.

I'd just leave it

VERY fishy ha ha, it is scam I've had loads of these emails before. they want you to pay the money first then they'll ship the car to you. its obviously a scam, last email I got was from a pregnant dr from greece who wanted me to buy her car, if I sent her the money she'd put the car on a ferry for me....... I geuss as she is a lady dr she must be trustworthy right?! lol

when i got my moped off ebay they delivered it to me, I paid cash in hand! :) phoned the person who was selling it and it worked out fine... but yours does sound dodgy! it's like a fake 'second chance' purchase... i always refuse (not that i use ebay very often!)

Its a bit expensive to be honest. Send me £1000 and I will send you the exact same car that this ebayer will :whistling:

That would be a definite deal breaker for me, sounds suspicious and even it is cheap I'd want to see the car and pay for it in person. Also free delivery anywhere in the UK sounds nonsense to me, any time I see delivery service offered it's usually within a relatively small radius of the seller (100 miles or so)

Yeah I thought it was too good to be true.

Never mind I'll pretend I'm interested and waste his time for a bit, I love doing that with scammers :-)

Out of town my **** string him along for a bit.

If it's a car i imagine you pick it up cash rather then pay like paypal, yeah anything else seems like a scam

although sometimes you can get too good to be true offers (if the car was stolen or if property has been stolen and needs to be gotten rid of fast) so sometimes it can be worth a look

Dont touch it!
#12
Well I just sent him a phoney address and now eBay should be emailing me some stuff. Worth a laugh!
#13
Don't touch!! He could get rid of it quicker and for more cash on the forcourt! They'd offer him more than 1500 quid for it without a doubt! Do you mind if I ask what car it is?

Yeah I know, I'm just messing him around. Maybe if I get enough details I can report him to the police.

It's a Vauxhall Tigre.
