Ebay Scammer Help!!! (Anyone Living In Northampton That Can Help?)

Ok i bought a iPod Classic 80gb and a ipod sock from a guy on ebay with the username 'collins_1211'. Is been two weeks now and still haven't recieved the item. I opened a case with paypal against the seller and the seller issued a wrong tracking number saying he sent the item. This tracking number is completely false and does not even follow the same structure of Royal Mails tracking numbers. I also requested contact details and phoned the guy up and found that he was using his friends house number. I now have the guys actual address i think but still no reply from him.

Can anyone help me? or anyone living in northampton could do me a favour? :)

Item number is 120241643920

just report back to paypal telling them the tracking number is false. its then on the seller to provide a real one. Surely paypal should check the tracking info provided?

what was the auction id?

Ring Paypal, advise them and ask for their course of actions, would of thought they'd just escalate straight away
#4

have you made sure he sent it via RM? it could have been parcel force of DHL.. have you told him that it doesnt work in the tracking system?

I've only ever had one response from the seller and that was when i rang the number and said to his friends mother i haven't got the item etc. She must have told him and he then emailed me sayin the item hasn't yet been sent because he was busy with a funeral. I respect that and still a week has passed and i've got nothing apart from a false tracking number which i've tried with parcelforce, dhl, royal mail every courier i could possibly think of
#11
well i escallted the claim and they said i was too late and did it wrong!
#12
Just to add the seller also said in the item description it would be sent by Royal Mail recorded so I assume it would've been sent by Royal Mail anyway

escalate it to paypal... do it now. this will then give the seller a final 10 days to reply. and if he dont then you automatically get the money... i did this last week and got all my money back

and i mean escalate not the fact that there is a dispute
#15
what do you mean escalate? i've filed a claim with paypal already and they are looking into it. Also the seller has responded with the false tracking number.

go into the dispute within paypal and click on the "escalate to a claim" button and put a short note saying tracking number is fake.

yep. that the moment you are in a "dispute" so its just you and the seller. paypal wont read that its a fake tracking no. you need to escalate it so a paypal person reads it.

Good Luck as this is all i get back from paypal/ ebay for my dispute, matters not if you win the dispute or not:

"According to our records, the claim was closed in your favour. In this case, you were covered by PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy. PayPal's Buyer Complaint Policy applies to all physical items purchased outside of eBay or eBay Express that were not delivered to the buyer. It is our best efforts programme, which means we will do our best to recover the full amount from the seller's account. However, we can only reimburse buyers for losses to the extent we are able to recover the funds from the seller. PayPal cannot guarantee a full refund.

If a full refund can not be recovered from the seller's account, PayPal will ask the seller to issue a refund for the remaining amount and may limit the seller's account until the refund is credited to your PayPal account.

Please let me know if you need further assistance."

Just all tosh, the seller is a scammer so they are not going to pay any money back to me, the claim had to take long enough for the verified paypal seller to withdraw the money before paypal would actually do anything. Basically they ask the seller for you to refund the money LOL.

Matters not that the seller had a verified account, they cannot provide me with the address details, and when the police were involved i was told that they address paypal had given them did not exist. So much for the verification process not being able to be forged!!
