eBay selling advice / problem

Just after some general advice / ebay etiquette.

I recently sold an item on ebay. A ford car CD player. I was unable to test the item and it sold. I sent the item at a cost of over £8 for postage. The buyer now says it doesnt work and i have agreed to accept it back and refund cost of item.

However i didnt want to refund postage costs as i would then be out of pocket. He is now asking me for the full costs back as well as postage costs he incurred sending it back to me.

Any advice?

Personally I check every item I send out BEFORE I send it. If it is faulty I do not send it.
If you sold it as 'working' and you didn't check it before sending you should refund him in full, including his P&P if it's faulty.
Look at it from his point of view, you would want refunding, wouldn't you? Did you ask him to check the fuse in the CD player?
