Feel free to discuss!
But please don't start talking about selling sims here, or it'll really confuse me!

LOL no worries, but like i said, that person was definaltly shill bidding, i looked at the items theyd sold, and amazingly they wanted every1!
Wow, i wish when i sold stuff on ebay, everyone would come back :)

Did you have any particular aspect you were wanting to discuss?

The reason I ask is that it's something which seems to be getting worse as one just about every item I've been bidding on recently my bid has been pushed up to maximum by a new user and then the bid retracted. While I appreciate you should only set your maximum bid a high as you want to it's friustrating to have the price pushed artificially high.

Hanif, dont worry i wont report anyone, after all, its nothing to do with me :)

John, not experienced this myself thank god, but i can believe it happens, some people, why cant they just set reserves?

Saying that though, part of that is ebays fault, it was a mistake removing being able to put a reserve on something less than £50 :(

thanks for the reassurance joshanna, rep left for all from previous thread as you have all made me feel a bit better by discussing

No problem, im sure youll get your item, dont worry :)

If not, if youve paid by paypal you can claim your money back, so really, try not to worry (i THINK this can be done even if theyve been removed from ebay)

I would do what someone else suggested and send them the info you have on them when you get the item. And say you want the difference back.

But if i were you, id be really cheeky and say i want a FULL refund, and grass them up anyway LOL

OK, just to add to the thread, as i didnt think to mention it before, im also having a problem on ebay :(

On thursday i found an item i wanted with an hour to go, sent them a question about p+p, it said £3.50 sellers standard rate, and then it said insurance included in the price.

Now, i never get anything sent less than recorded delivery, as im scared someone will say theyve sent something when they havent, proof of postage means nothing as ive been given blank ones to fill in myseld before!

The seller didnt get back to me, but i still bidded bcos it finished in the daytime (2pm ish)and i thought they might be at work.

I won the item, and i contacted them yet again about the p+p thing. No reply by friday morning, so i sent another question saying im waiting to pay etc so i need this info.

IVe still had no reply, but the listing says "the seller has sent you an invoice" so theyve obviously be on, bcos it wont say that unless theyve actually manually sent one.

So im a little worried and have 100% feedback, im not paying till i know whats going on, cos i really want the item recorded.
But im worried im going to get a non paying bidder strike and negative feedback :S

Ive sent 3 questions and havent recieved a reply :( Help me please someone

hanif, I will not report that shill bidding UNLESS you ask me to.

joshanna, Don't waste your time emailing the seller.
If the item had Paypals £500 buyer protection you will be covered. If you file a dispute for item NOT received, the seller has to prove it WAS posted by giving paypal the 'tracking' number. R/D, S/D or Courier 'tracking' number. If he did not send it by a trackable means Paypal WILL refund you in full.

I think youve read it wrong :)

The seller hasnt got back to me at all, i havent paid for the item YET as i still havent heard from them.

Im just worried im going to get a non paying bidder strike, when i do actually want the item, and my max bid was for alot more than i won it for also!

NO, I hadn't read it wrong

My reply was correct.:-D
Does the item have the full £500 PBP?

Recorded delivery (or Insurance as some fools like to call it (NOT you)) is for the SELLERS benefit NOT the buyers, if Paypal is involved.

Would you like Paypal links to back up what I'm saying?
Pay up.

Trust me, I DO know what I'm talking about.

Post this topic here:-

and I'll say the same thing along with quite a few other ebay/Paypal 'experts'.

What is the item number?

Not to worry all sorted, ive paid, so lets see what happens :)

update on the original post from early october;

'sorry been out for a bit, anyway here are details of the transaction to which ebay may refer to as 'shill bidding'.

280033331965 is the item i bid for on 28 sep and was out bid, fair enough.

280035442323 is the item i bid, won and paid for yesterday.

to add to the mix is the fact that the name of the person who has outbid me on the first auction has exactly the same name which appears on the paypal receipt for payment of the second item. also the seller and highest bidder on auction 1 share comments from previous sales on the feedback pages.

i think the first auction was to 'test the water', seller to see how much potential bidders were prepared to pay and the second auction to outbid me just enough to gain a sale at the max bid

i have not reported to ebay yet as i still want to keep the chances of receiving the item high.

so what do you think 'sherlock or paranoid?'

this thread is gone way off tangent but still a good topic to discuss'

after receiving my item i reported the scammer, ebay have removed the seller but not before he shill bid one more time
Item number: 280033333394 was bid for by the same person 'humera786'

i was happy i received my item

Thanks, even though you didnt reply to my pm :P

Did you manage to get any money back etc?
#13
sorry didnt reply to the 'pm' as thought would post for everyone to see as we generated quite a bit of discussion that day.

didnt lose anything financially as i received my item,

thanks to all who were involved and gave advice, i managed to stay calm and waited to receive my goods before reporting

WHAT??
Why did you say that? :x

Paypal will NOT get involved.

oh yes, i forgot about that part, think i'll just let it go but you are right, listings are rife with bids which come in at the last minute which seem suspicious, i.e account only opened on the day the item was listed etc.

Sorry but you need to be careful when you give that kind of advice. People may wrongly think that's what they should do.
