The minimum time of 5 seconds ok?

auctionsniper.com is good!
#8
bidnip.com is my preferred, but I use auctionsniper.com if I want to bid one just one from a list.

The minimum time is 1 second, click again after you have set it and there is an option for 1 second, personally I always use two seconds and its never let me down, 5 seconds and a canny manual bidder can stick another one in, 1 second sometimes misses.

A trick for manual bidding at last second is have the item open in a few different tabs, on each one enter a slightly increasing amount then click place bid, now the next window asks you to confirm, leave this and go back to the first tab watch the countdown go to 8 seconds, click your first bid an confirm, been outbid here? or its not quite high enough? Move to tab 2 click confirm? still not enough? move to tab 3 etc.

Isn't that a bit pointless?
You should have a very maximum in mind and bid that. if you don't get it at that price, move on!
Otherwise it's very easy to end up overpaying for things and getting in to bid wars.

ezsniper.com

three free snipes then 1% of bid if you win

but if you recommend friends you get free snipes !!! remember my username when you sign up :)

Never failed me yet and I have never paid to use the service in 3 or 4 years
