Do you believe although ebay has very high fees that few other sites have the ability to display your item to the highest amount of people?

Yes, I use Ebay and just pay the fees. As much as the amount annoys me, I wouldnt make as much money on any other site, so you just have to take them!

Yes, sometimes you just have to use it as you don't get as much coverage on here or other classifieds websites.

I consider the fees that I'll have to pay when setting the starting price. For example, I sold a phone on ebay a few weeks ago and wanted a minimum of £50 for it. On here I'd just ask for £50 + P&P but on ebay I had to set the BIN price as £60 or something, so I'd end up with my £50 after the fees were taken out..

Remember if you sell high value "Technology " items the fees are a lot less using "Buy it now",

Theres no point considering anywhere else, it just wont get spotted. I now only use Ebay as a last resort for cash when Im desperate or when I need to shift something. Most of the time it ends up at the charity shop instead.
If only Google did come up with something better/cheaper.. live in hope!

Ebay has a stranglehold on internet auctions, that's how they can get away with screwing sellers.
Hopefully Google will rival Ebay as soon as possible.

Very high fees yes, but if i ever have a collection only item, i will knock some off the price when the buyer collects and say that we will cancel it through ebay and hence they wont get the fees.

Done it plenty of times. I've tried to live without ebay when i got suspended but couldn't cope, had to nick my brothers account

I use ebay as a last resort, and for items that wouldnt sell anywhere else/that I dont really mind what I get for! Dont actually think the fees are too bad....
