A template for a £500 DIY computer. A bit short when it comes to HD but it should be quick enough, especially with the E6750 and the HD3870XT card. If you have better deals or want to alter the specs... Feel free to do so.

This really belongs in misc I would have thought. Not so much a deal as a shopping list.
#2
Pentium Dual Core E2160 (OC'd to 3.0ghz) ~ £49
MSI Neo2-FR Mobo ~ £68
2GB GEIL Black Dragon RAM ~ £45
PowerColor HD-3850 512mb ~ £115
Antec Sonata III case with 500w Earthwatts PSU ~ £70

Total: ~ £350

I'm gonna be buying this lot tomorrow, anyone have any suggestions on what to buy/not buy?

Going to put this is misc for discussion, thanks for taking the time to compile the list siliconbits, but this isn't a specific deal, more a shopping list as said previously

For anyone looking to overclock one of these budget Intel cpu's, take a look at the results on this website:

making the budget cpu favourable to a high-end cpu!!!

That's what I'm planning do.
Since I'll be using Photoshop a lot and the E2140 OC out performs the C2D and quad core in PS then i'd be stupid to pay 2-3 times more for a 'slower' cpu!

another waste of time posting from siliconbits.

if you dont know whats good and bad (Which you clearly dont), get out of the game.
