I bought a Car MP3/DVD/DivX player last Decemeber for the missus car. Recently it developed a fault - it was a bit tempermental in reading discs.

Logged an RMA with them on Friday. Much to my surprise, i didnt have to pay for the return and it was collected by Courier on Monday. Got an email yesterday to say they had tested and confirmed it was faulty and that a new replacement was on its way (to arrive on Monday.)

We've all seen countless examples of poor customer service..... thought I'd post this as an example of the complete opposite. Well done ebuyer!

Also, Ive bought a few low cost items previously which weren't working on arrival (external hard disc cases). An RMA raised and a replacement sent without even having to return the faulty one.

Ive used ebuyer for yonks (mostly because of competetive prices) and would have to say they've not always been as good. But credit where it's due - they've definately turned it around!

Any other examples of good customer service given?

This is the opposite to a name and shame thread.....

O2 texting me to give me £5 per month off my contract, I didn't have to ring them up to try and get money off after it was reduced for new customers.

I think that Ebuyer have a figure below which they'll refund/replace without question. Possibly about £50? Makes economic sense as they've probably got much the same arrangement with their suppliers.

I would second your recommendation as I've always had excellent service from Ebuyer - been buying from them since 2001.

Believe it or not, my local Currys are excellent. Had two issues with them. The first one where a DVD player stopped working. Went back to store and the unit was replaced with a newer model without even checking the old one.
The second time was when I went back to Sky though one of the Currys promos.
The system kept trying to reactivate my old account rather than start a new one (and therefore supply me with a shiny new Sky+ box)
It took a week to resolve but I was getting two calls a day to keep me updated. The sales advisor even knocked on my door one evening on his way home as he hadn't been able to reach me by phone.
I took the time to write to both the store manager and Currys HO commending him as well as sorting him out a bottle of vino. (Had to give him this after hours as Currys have a strict policy against this sort of thing evidently)

Yeh, I'm sure you are correct about a pricing limit to replace without returning. The small items I spoke about were about £15 each - and I had 2 out of 3 that were faulty. I would think that probably applies more to the initial delivery rather than in warrenty... but not had anything to test that theory with! (Well, that I could be bothered to RMA anyway!)

[email protected] revenge, at one time i had 3 threads going with over 20,000 viewings between em, nah no money back yet, its still going thru courts, gotta just wait now. will post again and fire it up when i got more time ;)

yeah the nas was from ebuyer, much better than the last time i crossed swords with them.
About 7yrs ago, back then they sent me a mainboard instead of the hdd i ordered, they ended up ignoring my emails so i got a charge back from cc comp.
lmao when they noticed 6 mths later and came lookin for mb, told em they had 14 days to collect and i was only "in" tues, weds and fri between 7 and 11pm. they never bothered.

Ah. So that was yours. They must be mad allowing it to go to a court! I know they wanted you to pay for postal return. Did they not find it faulty or something - or just refuse to pay postal costs?

Yeh, Ive had similar problems in the past - but they really do seem to have cleaned their act up - hence the heads up for a bit of credit and kudos.

nah they just said (paraphrased) "send it back n we'll test it, but statistics say its not faulty",
So if its not faulty why send it back?, they just too tight to pay so why should I
so i stuck to the advice given by TS's and refused, said they can come and collect/ refund which they refused to do, hence the court.
