Ebuyer question - banning bidders

I've got a car listed on ebay and the current high bidder seems somwhat dodgy. He only registered with ebay a couple of months ago so obviously has no negs but he's given negs to 5 of the 9 sellers he's left fb for, all of whom have otherwise good fb.

Is it possible to cancel his bid and then immediately ban him to prevent him re-bidding?

Can you tell me either your ebay ID or the bidders ebay ID. I'm just curious to read the feedback this guy has left for others

You can add him to your ebay block list. Best way to access this is to go to the ebay help page and type in block bidder and find the block bidder page from there.

You can also set up Buyer requirements for your all or some of your listings. This way if someone doesn't meet a specific criteria they won't be able to place a bid. This can be found in 'Site Preferences" in ebay 'My Summary'

I've got some stringent buyer requirements rules set up and have never had a problem so far with any of the items I've sold.

Yep, his ID is pinnelmhingirira-123

And I've just noticed one of the 4 positives he's recieved is actually a negative in disguise.

I think you are addressing the wrong person. I just wanted to be nosey and read the feedback profile for this suspicious bidder.

I've been a proactive buyer and seller for several years and personally I would cancel the bid if I felt I was going to get unfair feedback. You tend to find genuine buyers and sellers will endeavour to resolve the problem first and not resort to leaving negative feedback, especially on 50% of purchases!

There is a 'cancel bids on your listing' area where you can remove the bid and, if you so wish, block the potential buyer too. (In should be in 'My Ebay' under favorite links.)

Also, you can set up a 'block / preapprove bidders' so that you avoid this on future listings. Most sellers now dictate minimum positive feedback with some as high as 50! I normally go for 15 positives and no problems so far!

Good luck and hope that helps :-D

This guy seems to have a history of buying second hand cars. He also seems barely literate as he clearly doesn't read the guidelines for leaving feedback, instead favouring one-word swearing when leaving feedback.

I would definitely cancel his bid. Even if all goes well, would you really want to deal with a person who appears to be a complete arse?!

Interesting, how do I do that? I've found the Buyer/Bidder Management page but it doesn't have an option for pre-approval of bidders and will only let me block bidders with a fb of -1 or worse.
