There's an eclipse of the moon happening now, for the first time in 6 years!!

OOH. It's so cludless in most of the UK too. Perfect.

The moon is half gone, and the eclipse's height will be 10.24pm until 11.58pm when the moon will be red.

Nice pics birdyboyuk! My dad told me about this at about 8pm so I looked out a few times but I wasn't too interested because I thought it was just going to get covered up, I'd have paid more attention if i'd know it was going to go red!
#32

thanx fwibble that's a good un.

Brilliant pic fwibble, all my pics were a bit pathetic

Did anyone else think before the eclipse that the moon looked brighter than usual or am I just imagining it?

thanks i best not take the glory for it though as my girlfriend is a deviant art member and she came across it on there.

also, do you normaly notice the moon, I'm quite weird as I like "glancing" at the stars orions belt is usually directly above my house and it make me go :-D
#38
I noticed the moon after, about 2am...it was so bright that I looked outside about 4 times thinking there was a big light on somewhere before I realised it was the moonlight. There's a house over the road with 3 skylights and the roof itself was shining white (even though it's black) and the skylights looked like they were glowing....was pretty freaky. So yeah, I'd say the moon was definitely brighter last night!
#39
I guess it would be, because if the sun earth, sun and moon are in-line then most of the sun's light will be getting reflected to us...
