If you got the interview you have more or less got the job, just make sure at the end of the interview you have some questions to ask the person interviewing, even if you don't need to ask anything.

Mention you are flexible, keen and a team worker, that will score you lots of points!
#4
You do the shopping for the internet customers.

Also mention you have had experience - Maybe a xmas temp job a Tesco?

I have worked in JD Sports before, dont know if this will help in the interview :?

You are sooo typical, the amount of times I have been told they were wary of me as they thought I was af ter their job, it's a bit harsh!! Just because you give intellegent replies they get all jittery, huh!
#14
When will I hear if I have been successful.

When can I start?

btw, try somewhere to get in you have excellent attention to detail, which will assist in the customer receiving the correct item.

Lol, not typical at all. I though it was a brilliant question. I was honest in that I love my job. She was a great candidate but we only had one job..............

Only just thought about her wanting my job when I typed it out then!! She would have had to fight me for it!!!

:-D

How about asking if they think it's possible to keep the job but change shifts while you're studying?
when i worked ina bookshop they gave me two jobs in my interview! a x-mas temp and the permanent weekender... it's cheeky but who knows?!... but only ask if you'd like a job while studying! (I would have been in tons of debt if I hadn't got a job! spent about £100 a week while at college!) ooops!

Its a good job, Its what I do for a living at moment. I started as a part timer at A-Levels.

In the interview I'm pretty certain they'll ask you a few role play scenarios. Remember to go out your way to help the customer, smile, say hello, take them to products, 'is there anything else i can help you with?', help pack bags etc if asked what you would do in such and such situation.

Be polite, show you have common sense, and then the jobs wrapped up.

Job itself is pretty straight forward, walk around shopping items off the shelf. Quite a bit of customer interaction, so be a people person if you can.

Just my advice :)

Good luck hope all goes well :)

You should be alright, nearly anyone can work at Sainsburys, its good though as they pay a fairly decent wage for my age.

Anyway, as it was said before, if you have the interview you have the job as long as you dont declare that you are mega lazy and hate people lol.

I know it's only Sainsburys, but it goes a long way if you have done a bit of research on the company/position.
Good luck, i'm sure the job is yours.
#22
Maintain eye contact with the person speaking to you, make sure you sit the the chair properly - no slouching and do a little research on the Sainsbury's brand, one question they all ask is "Tell me about yourself" so be prepared.
#23
Wear a shirt and tie - it shows that you are taking it seriously and that you want the job - it doesn't matter that it's for a supermarket, it shows you are committed.

Also, leave plenty of time to get there - 10 mins more than you think! You can always walk around outside for a bit - showing up late is a defininate no-no, even if you were stuck in traffic!

Be polite, take a few deep breaths and relax before you go in, look them in the eye when you answer their questions, (and if you don't know the answer, just say "I'm sorry, I don't know") oh! and try to smile :)

Good luck and come back and let us know how you get on.:)

Yes and 'Tell me about a time you went above and beyond what was required in a previous role.'
#25
Unless you are applying to be duty they wont ask you too many questions, they are mainly just questions on how you would treat customers.

But still, dress smart, talk properly and be on time!

You're a dynamic, out of the box thinking, thought provoking, team inspiring, methodical, logical, enthusiastic citizen, who draws upon is character building experiences, able to adapt and stick to the plan, oxford cloth, button down collar gentleman with an adhesive personality.

ask when you get paid and how much, and if u get any holidays!!
#31
Don't stress out over it though is the main thing, its just a job either shelf stacking or on the tills. Now you have the interview you pretty much have the job, just make sure you look presentable and speak politely.
#32
Is it agreed then that I should be wearing a shirt and tie? lol
#33
I would, it gives off a good image. Its a pretty standard thing to do for interviews as well.

Well I already know the hourly rate as it was advertised when I applied.
I have just wikipedia'd a few bits and bobs of the company, and have thought of areas I have excelled in and can tell them about if they ask.

Im just thinking I will be overly dressed with a tie AND shirt? But if it is agreed lol....
#37
Good luck, I use to work for Tesco Dot Com (same as what you are goin for) much, MUCH better then stacking shelves.
#38
also say tesco/asda etc have shown a keen intrest in securing your services, but you would much rather work at a supermarket like sainsburys and ur favourite colour is orange and sainsburys sell better products and seem a better company to work for and your a big fan of sainsburys taste the difference range and you like jamie oliver
#39
funny story: my cousin used to work at Sainsburys until he got caught down oen aisle eating some pringles ... 10 years later his mum still buys him a can of pringles every xmas... i dont think he finds it that funny anymore :P

I don't know if it is a good sign, but I spent about an hour talking to my interviewee. (?)
Basically wasked asked a few scenarios, what I would do and why.

He asked me where I see my self in the next few years, and I told him that hopefully if I get the job, I will rank up within the business (which he seemed quite happy about, as he had done the same thing and started as a trolley boy!)

Ill get a response within 48 hours....
....The waiting begins

Thanks for all the advice guys :-D
