hey all......im still battling the evil nausea of early pregnancy....my main problem is that its nausea but its so so close to actually being sick. if i could BE sick i know i'd feel tons better. With my first son i used to stick a toothbrush down my throat (when it got really rough..not always!!) and that worked...but it hasnt been working this time :(

I'm only gonna do it the times i feel really really badly like chucking up but i cant....so any tips? someone said hot water...but that didnt work either.

edit: ok i dont wana force myself to be sick. thanks all

If your body wants to throw up, it will- you shouldn't try and force yourself hun. You could injure yourself and it could be traumatic for your little one :)

totally agree, i had a really rough time with morning sickness with all mine, adn the little guy was the worst, all i drank in the first few months was cold water and could drink cappachino, as for food i ate very little as continaully felt sick but never was, the body knows what it needs and when it needs to do it, you shoudlnt be making yourself sick or trying too, chucking up once a day will also have an effect on your teeth:thumbsup:

The sight of someone else being sick usually does the trick for some people

Have you got a trigger food - that just looking at it would help?

I know how you feel, just that one chuck up could make you feel better for the whole day... I had it in my first trimester with my first child. I ate well for the rest of the day - and didn't have the urge - but just that one time of day I felt so ill until it had occurred.

How many weeks are you?

7 weeks tomorrow so its going to get a lot worse before it gets better! this thread has hanged my opinion though.... i think i will try my best to stick with the nausea and not puke up forcedly.

My partner suffered really bad morning sickness that last all day, tried all sorts to no avail until I made some ginger and lime iced tea

6 Tea bags
6 mugs boiled water
Root ginger
Lime

Put the teabags in a bowl then very finely grate a half inch to inch of ginger in (maybe more to suit individual tastes, and add the water leave for around 15-20, minutes remove the teabags leave to cool and add the juice of 1 lime, place in refrigerator to cool, delicuious served over ice mixe about 1/3 tea to 2/3 lemonade.

We still make this now as its really nice and refreshing in summer

Agreed it really works, fresh root ginger is better though and very cheap to buy, be careful if you try ginger beer/ale though as most are simply ginger "flavoured" and no ginger content, read the label an buy decent stuff.

try brushing your teeth, god that used to make me puke well bad when i was preggers it was a never ending circle had to brush my teeth everytime i puked, but puked everytime i brushed my teeth. LOL isnt pregnncy a beautiful thing
#32
If course it is best if you can manage without being sick!

Good luck to you

Mint usually helps me - ginger often makes me feel more ill. So if Ginger doesn't work - maybe try a chewing gum. Be careful of herbal teas as some are not suitable in pregnancy - but you can buy herbal teas for pregnacy - that might be worth a look around!

i had that too, it was awful, i would have rathered been sick than constantly feel like you want to be sick, at least then it's over and done with, the only thing i can suggest is gaviscon that worked for me or indegestion tablets, hope you fell better soon xxxxx

Interesting to see that you all suggested chemical based means of inducing vomiting. I sometimes wonder if I'm on a completely different internet to the rest of you guys.

you're lucky mb that you only feel sick.
i was sick with all 3 of mine constantly - couldn't even keep down some water & had to be admitted to hospital a few times with my first 2 to be put on a drip as i was dehydrated & be given medication to stop me being sick. by the time i started feeling ill with my 3rd they knew what tablets to put me on to stop me being sick
