Hope he makes a good recovery

He is/ was a very good player and the tackle images look very painful

Arsenal will miss him and so will i for the rest of the season.
Hope to see him in an arsenal shirt when he is back on his feet
#10
Wenger wants the ad who did it banned from football.

Said "He should never play again"

Nasty though.

Season over.

Career - in balance
#11
If he does return, it won't be for another year or two at least and he won't be the same player he was before the break, so his career is most probably over. So much wasted potential

Taylor needs to be banned forever, that is a horrfic tackle.

Hope Eduardo gets a speedy recovery.

Edit: change my mind, forget banning him from football, the crackhead taylor needs do go to prison! :x
#13
Wow, that is one shocking injury!! It looks like his career could be possibly over with the state of that break, that is a mega nasty one! Im just gobsmacked!
banned#14
Not nice seeing this whoever it is.

Im no Arsenal or Eduado fan, but I hope that isnt career ending.
#15
Dear God that looks really dreadfully stomach-churningly painful! I don;t reckon the other lad should be finished over it though, it can't have been deliberate!
#16
The worst thing is that Eduardo is such a nice guy. He's not rude, doesn't harm anyone, he's just a good hard worker that was born in Brazil and made a career for himself by moving to Croatia and living there for many years before he got his big break at Arsenal, he's tried so hard all season, even when Wenger has played him on the left, where he hasn't played before, he hasn't complained, he's just got on with his job and was genuinely grateful to have his chance at Arsenal. Then to have everything taken away from his by one mad tackle and he may never play for Arsenal again. I think it's disgraceful and the guy who done the challenge should be banned until Eduardo comes back.

Taylor had 100% intention of fouling/hurting Ed, but obviously not to snap his leg.

This looks like a career threatening ending injury, he probably wont be able to walk properly for years, let alone play football again.

Taylor needs to go to jail.

This coming from a Man Utd supporter.

Please people ! dont speak your mind!

However hes had an accident! which is not nice worse thing he may lose his job!, at least he's not dead!!

Ball was there to be won, but by the time Taylor went into the tackle he was just beaten to it, see it all the time in football now. Alan Smith at United aganist Liverpool another example, Busst at Coventry against United which in all fairness was worse then this one, 9 minutes to remove him from pitch, area had to be washed and covered in sand to remove the blood spilt from the area.

And as for Wenger what a moron! He claims it was bound to happen to an Arsenal player, cause of the way they are currently playing so he saying it was part of Brum's game plan to take out a player, like this? What a moron.

Why? Admittedly, I have only seen it in the videoclip posted on the other thread, but I have definately seen much much worse.

Maybe viewing at different angles, my viewpoint may be altered, but Taylor was marginally beaten to the ball and unless its thought it was deliberate, its just one of those unfortunate things that happen occasionally in football.

No, it doesnt show you that. But it does show his leg snapped into a bad angle.

Its not a pretty picture, but no blood or bone (which is what you were asking!)

What has happened to Eduardo is awful and I'm sure that all fans and all players would hope he makes a full recovery.

For Wenger to say that Martin Taylor should not play football again(I hope that it is down to feeling emotional about the situation) suggests that he believes that Taylor maliciously went into the challenge, which I do not believe is the case. That Alex McCleish is supporting his player is correct,he says that Taylor is not that sort of player and the stats back up what he says.Having checked the disciplinary record of Martin Taylor, since he started playing in 1999,he has totalled 1x red card and 6x yellow cards(not including today's red).

There are players who have already exceeded that this season, never mind over an entire career to date!!

Martin Taylor will no doubt feel absolutely distraught over what has happened,so for people to suggest he should not play again or be 'sent to jail'(what the ?????) is not really on imo.

As a birmingham supporter who was at the game today, i am DISGUSTED at Arsene Wenger !!!!!! :x:x

When the tackle was made, it didn't even look like a foul and we all thought the red card was harsh.

But, after seeing the footage and still pictures, it was a clumsy tackle, NOT MALICIOUS, eduardo was basically too quick for taylor. So when he makes contact and da silvas foot is planted on the floor, you can see why the injury is terrible and career threatening to say the least.

Taylor isn't a dirty player whatsoever, it wasn't meant, it was just a pure accident which happens in football.

But i think wengers comments about taylor being banned from football and that it was only a matter of time before this happened to an arsenal player has really annoyed me.
Who the hell does he think he is !! Talyor was gutted, you could see that by his reaction.

Feel very sorry for eduardo and all the players, medical staff who witnessed and treated him, but arsene wenger you are a complete idiot !!!!

Jeeze, I had to look didn't I. That is horrendous.

I am an arsenal fan
The length and why Talyor Ran at Eduardo looked as if he meant to show his authority as you would if your a defender but i don't think he meant to break Eduardo's leg.

Totally agree, still very harsh words though !

I don't know if Taylor meant to break Eduardo's leg, but I think he was trying to foul him, you don't in for tackles that high if you're going for the ball. I don't think Wenger was wrong to say what he said, he was clearly angry and I do believe that even if it was unintentional Taylor deserves a very long ban, the FA should set an example that these sort of high, career threatening tackles will not be tolerated. If Taylor had kept his foot on the floor or near the floor Eduardo would not have been injured.

What are you going on about????, I could not believe that you had opened a discussion on wishing Eduardo goodwill. All I was pointing out that it was an accident which happens a hundred times over within the game of football.

I agree not a nice thing to see on a Saturday afternoon, but as you obviously thought "Wow Ill show everyone the graphic pictures" You should be the one being banned my friend, not I!

So without being too offensive please keep your pathetic opinions about trying to get me banned to yourself!! end of!!

Disagree, i have seen far worse tackles than that go un-punished week in week out in all leagues of football.

If players kept their feet on the ground, they would never move!

If you think his foot was high, you should watch some of the x-rated stuff they show on MOTD each week! Whilst they may (or may) not end in such a bad injury, the intent is pretty clear by comparison. The reaction of an injured players team mates is usually significant. There didnt appear to be much hoo-haw which generally makes me beleive they didnt think it was a bad tackle. A bad injury, undoubtably, but it really didnt look that bad in normal speed.

As for Wenger, yes he has a right to be upset. I'm just surprised he saw it!

I wonder if Wenger saw the x-rated over the top challenge from Eboue the previous week - in a game that could have ended with 3 gooners sent off! Maybe Fergusson can expect teams to play that way against them? Sounds like it from Wengers logic!

Its well known in football that if you are going to take a player out do it in the 1st five or ten minutes as you have a better chance of not getting booked or sent off.

WELL DONE REF!

I think this site has lost its way a bit, I have every sympathy with Eduardo and wish him a speedy recovery but do we really want such things as this with such graphic images on a site such as this? I dont think so.
