There should be no difference...try turning off all your security (wep etc) and then connect...

Lots of similar problems.

I find I have to start stop interfaces, change Wep etc quite a lot now

:-(

Try rebooting your router.

And restarting the eee.

i had ths when my laptop hadnt been online for 3 days )i had connected the telephone wire into wrong hole in livebox - lol) got desktop back when plugged in to right hole -lol, But not lappy i spent over half hour on phone to orange who then informed me my laptop had no wireless card (although had been on net for 3 years with it - lol) i had loadsa help on here but nothing helped, i spent all day on it, deleting this, pressing this and pressing that when eventually i got it sorted but sadly i did that much i dont know exactly what did to get it back

If you have rebooted your router and the laptop is connected and you have deleted connection and rebooted, and paired i dont know what else to suggest, but hang in there someone will help

connect it using a ethernet cable then access the live box config pages using the eee. reset the security to none and reboot. connect eee usinf wifi. then using eee and ethernet access live box config again and select wep and reboot. then reconnect eee.

Does the Livebox not support WPA? You should really be using that instead of WEP. (the eee definitely supports it, my 701 is connected to my WPA wireless network).
