What with egypt switching off the internet and disrupting mobile phone signal due to recent troubles etc.
Could this summer as these devastating cuts and job losses come to fruition would the british government consider doing the same.

maybe not, but if people used twitter or facebook, to plan large scale riots about (INSERT RIOT TOPIC HERE#), dont you think the police/gov would try to shut down those sites, or at the very least the users creating those events.

#welsh zombie miners
#student tuition fees
#predicted interest rate rises leading to 1000's defaults on mortgages

you cant compare piratebay & wikileaks with twitter & facebook. The first two are useful.

Their more likely to let illegal conversations run their course, monitor and gather evidence then go for arrests before action is taken. It's the way they operate with terrorism and child abuse so this is no different

The police have been harrasing people who are planning fuel protests through facebook.

Man, it comes to something though when you need permission from the police to protest..... rule britania and all that
