Hi, My husband is trying to replace the 2 way switch but can't get them working properly. Can anyone help? The wires are the new system - black, grey & brown.

what do you mean properly? you sure you havent got a duff switch, last one i got was duff and wouldnt work at all

Propery = 1 switch turns on/off the wall lights and the 2nd does the ceiling rose.
We can only have 1 of the lights on. He re-did them and then only the set of lights came on.

I did mention a dodgy switch and he aint impressed -- been at it for a while now and think he's gonna blow a fuse lol x

if all lights where working before i cant see it being anything other than a dodgy switch, you of course have checked bulbs

yep all checked. He just checked the new switch on other set of electrics and it works fine.

He's just re-wired it now and 1 switch works 2 sets of lights which is says SHOULDN'T BL**DY HAPPEN - totally flumexed - ps. was dodgy dudes who did my electrics originally !

what was your other switch? or was it wired up to one switch, i only ever change like for like

originally the light switch did 3 lights - outside, rose and wall. He disconnected the outside light so replaced the 3-way switch for a 2-way.

He's taped up the outside wires so they aren't in use and now can't get the other 2 lights to work.

should have let you do it, females are so much better at these things - lol

it does sound like hes wired it up wrong if one switch is now bringing on both lights :?
