If you gave up on acoustic then maybe one of these would be better for you.

Acoustic guitars are much easier to learn on than an Electric.........so i think you may as well quit now if you can't master the Acoustic.

Meh, I know your a good guitar player, But my personal opinion is different, I find the strings easier to press down on my electric and it seems easier to do chords as the strings are closer together. Plus everything sounds twice as nice! :giggle:

Just get a PS2 along with Guitar Hero and 'trick' yourself into thinking you're an amazing guitar player! Having said that the hard setting is murderous and surely more difficult than actually playing it :?

It takes more discipline to play an acoustic. That's if discipline is the right word I'm looking for.

With an electric you have a lot of room for error in my opinion.

So generally if you play acoustic first you will find it easy to then move on to an electric. But going from electric to acoustic you will have some difficulties.

Oh and don't expect to pick up an electric and play something worthy of Hendrix. You will be bitterly disappointed.

I reckon you'll find electric easier than acoustic especially if your acoustic had a real horrible high action!

As for tuition material - sign up to lovefilm/tesco dvd free trials and check out the tuition dvds there. The lick library ones are great but mainly show you how to play songs rather than teach you guitar, although there are some lick library titles that are more geared to learning the guitar than songs.
