Emachine 410 PC Ram/Memory ?
Sister gives me her old PC to reinstall windows & basically make it run faster.
The PC is one of those chitty emachines that for some reason never like you to install over there own emachines windows with all the spam etc that comes with it.
Anyway,the PC only has a poor 512mb Ram & going by google it can hold up to 2gb (2x1gb sticks).
I've looked at the prices & was going to get another 1gb,but the cheapest I can find is £18.95 & sounds a little expensive for only 1 gb.
On ebay they seem to be around the same price 270656795548
Any idea if I can use other Ram instead of ram that's named "emachine memory" as I believe that's why it's more expensive.

Also the GPU is poor & maybe updating that will help it run faster as she only has the Radeon 9200.
Wouldn't want to spend 40% of the pc's value upgrading for 10% extra performance, But will help.
I'm just not happy paying so much for a poor 1gb stick.

Laptop is a PC, you mean it's a desktop? If you're going to get picky about these things then get it right yourself.

As PC stands for personal computer & 99% of the population associate PC with a Desktop,then I don't think I need to be clear it's a desktop,unless I'm asking someone from the 1% club like yourself.

Seems a little choppy on video images like Youtube & I'm guessing this is the poor ram & maybe GPU ?

It's because the cpu is terrible, gpu is a classic but badly dated.
And nothing is programmed around being ran by a system like that anymore.
Give it 6 months to a year and she won't be able to upgrade her flash when the new version hits youtube and then she won't be able to watch videos at all.

I'm not throwing insults. I'm blank pointing out that you constantly lie about fixing PCs for family members to get free advice out of people on here when actually you're a PC and mobile phone wheeler dealer.
