I had an email today from amazon regarding an item that went missing back in november which they sent a replacement out.

It's basicaly asking me did i ever receive it and if i did to let them know and if they don't hear from me they will charge me again for the item!

Can they legally do this? anyone else had this email

Doesn't that still mean you have to pay for it? I also got the same mail and I recieved the replacement they sent, I ignored the e-mail and they did as the e-mail said, they charged me the price.

click the 'i have not recieved the original item' link in the email! (unless you have, and not returned it in which you should click the 'yes i have receievd original item, in which case they will charge you as you are technically stealing it else)

Why are you flaffin? Just email back stating you never received the original item, job done, the world carries on as normal.

They did this to me a few weeks ago, i replied 4 times saying i never got it, they still kept treating it as if i hadnt replied, had to speak to customer services to get them to sort it. I was a bit surprised as to how they could do it too, mine was because i'd ordered an item for Xmas present and it didnt arrive before so the refunded me.

It is because they wait 3 months or so before they file a claim with royal mail or the couriers. They are asking you to confirm it never turned up. Be thankful is is an email to click response to - some companies make you fill in and sign a form.
