Hi, Just to let you all know I have just received an email that looks like it's from the Halifax, with the msg saying "Several attemps to access to your account" I phoned Halifax to enquire as I do not hold an account with them, she told me this is a Fraud email, this is just to make all you Halifax customers aware as it is asking you to click on a link and fill out all your details.

Thank you for alerting us to the suspicious e-mail you have received.



· Please delete the e-mail immediately.

· Do not respond to the e-mail or access any links within the mail.



A number of fraudulent e-mails are currently circulating in the UK encouraging bank customers to visit a website where card or internet security details are then requested. Your e-mail address has not been and would never be disclosed by us



We never send e-mails that ask for confidential or security information. If you are concerned that you may have divulged any details of accounts held with us please call our Helpdesk immediately



If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us. You can find our contact details on our website

i get loads of these, and dont hold accounts with any of them

oldest trick in the book -its been around for years-they just bombard everyone with these emails from various banks in the hope that they get someone who actually has an account with that bank and falls for it.

Wasnt it obvious that it was a scam LOL, especially with the grammar / spelling as it was ("Several attemps to access to your account")

I get about 20 a week, just read the English in them, you will know that they are fake.

Or hover your mouse over the link, that will tell you where the link goes to.

I phoned as my ex had left me in over £7000 in debt last year and thought it was him trying to open an account in my name.

lol these have been doing the rounds for at least 5 years now personally anyone who falls for them deserves to lose their money
