If they can't spell 'attempts' correctly, then you really should be doubting it.

Delete it - I'm sure if you hover your cursor over the original link in the email you received, it will show its going to a completely different website.

Ask yourself: "If my account had suffered from several attempts to hack in to it, why would Hotmail wait 24 hours before locking the account?"

2 'weapons' favoured by scammers - scare tactics (someone is trying to hack into your account! You must click on this link or else!) & pressure (you must reply within xxx hours/days).

If you are that unsure, then go to hotmail.co.uk (do NOT use the link given in the email!!!!), log in to your account, & change the password.

BTW, if you hover your mouse over the link provided in the email you can quite often see the real URL in the bottom left corner of the screen.

I got one stating that my email address has wrongly been given out to an authorised third party and that I was in line for a compensation payment of $2.5 million. To receive my ATM card so I can withdraw the money I need to send a payment of $350 to Mr Pastor ' I'm a blooming Con Artist' Cachaba.

Got to love their attempts. Of course I replied to the email from an anonymous email account with a fair few expletives and wishes of sadness on them and their friends, plus I gave not so favourite MP's details as correspondence

Only $2.5 million i would of pushed for more! Giving your email away to a third party, that is disaterous, i dont know how you got through it all.
