Email Scams

Just had a few emails in my Inbox today reporting to be from HSBC and Paypal about updating my details.

I don't have an HSBC account so this one was obviously fake and the paypal one came from a .co.uk account and as far as i am aware paypal use .com.

The links contained in the emails DO NOT take you to either HSBC or PAYPAL sites.

So please be warned people that these are going round at the moment and delete them.

Stay safe out there and happy easter to you all. :)

Never go from a link in your e mail!!
Always log into any account you have by going via http://www. (then whatever the site is)

Yup. They're dodgy but nothing new... we all get them. I have found an amazing tool called the "delete" key lol.

Dear ***** ****,
Thank you for taking the time to contact [email protected]">[email protected]. The email you
reported was not sent by PayPal and is a phishing (fraudulent) email.
-------------------
What to do Next
--------------------
Delete the phishing email. If you've already responded to the email,
please log in to your PayPal account and perform some important safety
measures.
1. Go to your Profile and change your password and security questions.
2. Review the payments listed on your Account Overview.
If you notice a payment that you don't recognize, visit the PayPal
Security Center to file a claim. We'll promptly investigate any
suspicious transactions and you won't be held liable for unauthorized
payments sent from your account.
It also states on the security page at paypal all e-mails from paypal will be addressed to you personally by your first & last name or the business name linked to the account
