This may sound a bit long winded but may just work. I will try it tonight and let you know.

What you need:

Wii with internet connection
Google Mail account

If you have your own domain set up a [email protected] email address to point to your google mail account. If not then you can just use your Google Mail email address.

Then register that email address with your Wii.

Then once the email comes into the address on your google mail send a test email to the wii address sent to you just to make sure the link works.

Now go into your google mail settings and go to the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab.

On here set the Forwarding option to Forward a copy of incoming mail to [email protected] (where XXXX is your wii number) then select to either keep, archive or delete the original.

This should now allow you to email your wii from any email address rather than having to register them all just use the email address you created.

I am sure there are other ways of doing this also but this is the only one I can think of at present.

I just find emailing the wii really useful as I use it as my reminder. When I go home and see that blue light flashing I know there is something I need to do.

Let me know your thoughts.

The main idea beind this post was the fact that you can (if it works, I am still yet to try it) use your wii to recive your email at home. No need to go in to check if you have had an email it will flash to tell you.

I would not advise using the email address to sign up for anything though as you do not want loads of spam. But if you are sensible and just use it amongst friends and family I think this could be a very handy work around.

Right an Update:

I have not got this to work yet as Google Mail forwards the email as the original sender email.

If there is a way to get an email account to forward received email using its own email address then this will work.

Does anyone know if there is anything out there that does this?
