End of phone contract?

I bought a phone last year around middle of July, it was on a cheque back scheme.
I take it the 12 month contract will finish end of July 07 and I have to cancel it. If I forget to cancel the contract will they (CPW) assume that I have agreed to a continuation of the contract and keep debiting £30 pm from my account, or will they notify me?
I'll be after a similar cheque back contract.

As you can tell I have never had a contract phone before;-)

Once your contract finishes, you'll continue getting debitted on a month to month basis. Unless you phone and cancel/renew ;-)
After your contract expires, you'll be able to cancel at any time but they usually request you do it in writing.. :)

Thanks for the reply:thumbsup:
I wasn't sure wether I would be entered into another 12 month contract if I forgot to cancel in time.

No they can't enter you into a contract without your permission. You're bound by your initial agreement terms, then they'll just keep it going contract free for as long as they can
Thanks for the rep :)

I'm also on a 12 month contract, not 100% when it finish's, when should I cancel, as soon as I receieve my 12th bill?

My contract is ending in the next couple months but i want a good deal (i got 15 months half price on my flext 35 contract, even though i only claimed back for 5).

Would i be able to get a good deal by staying with T-mobile or would i have to change my number and get a deal elsewhere, as i would like to keep my number due to business contacts?

I'd phone them a few days before it's due and tell them you're leaving them, they'll try and hardsell you but once you convince them you are cancelling, they'll probably tell you to instruct them in writing of your intention to leave them

phone just before your contract expires to say you're leaving them and ask if you need to tell them in writing. They might hardsell you, as I mentioned before and if they start making you offers, just tell them what you want- I honestly don't know if you can switch numbers between companies but I have a feeling that you can... it'd be worth checking out tariffs with rival companies before you contact t-mobile so you've got a bargaining chip, so to speak
