i doubt u be able to cancel your contract with 6 months to go, but i think altho not 100% sure, you can downgrade in the final 6 months to a lower tarrif

As far as I know you cannot cancel a contract that you have signed into as at the end of the day it's a legal contract so they can pursue you for the rest of the money for the remaining contract if you cancelled the direct debit etc...

You could give them a call and see if they have any deals for early upgrades but you may be out of luck seeing that you still have 6 months left to run on the contract, I have had an early upgrade once but that was with three months left to run on the contract

Call them up - explain why you need a new phone, they may have options. I wouldn't be too surprised if they can offer you something provided you take out a further 18 month\2 year contract, or failing that they probably have some options of new/refurb handsets you could buy.

i know thats the problem. But my current phone is not great...so thinking of getting a new phone! But its soo pricey to buy phones offline, that i might be better of paying for a new contract and getting the phone free!

some shops will buy you out of your contract, i know phones4u will, but not sure when, took out an 24 month contract and told to go in at month 18 to see what they can do

if yuou really need a new phone why not just buy a second hand or a cheap one?
it will work out better i nthe new run as it will allow you the option of a better contract after the 18 months.

Thanks people.

I will try pop into phone 4 u when i can and see if they can arrange me a new contract and buy out my old one!

Otherwise i might just downgrade my current plan and new contract!
