hi all,

i have had virgin broadband contract since 2007 on their promotion tariff at tht time for 10 pound - 2MB i think its size L. Last year i recieved a bil for 20 and when i called them up they said my contract has finished and im on their normal price plan. I haggled and they agreed to extend it to noext 6 month on the same price which is 10pound. Again this time i recieved a bill for 20pound ( 6 month is finished).

I called them up and they said tht they dont hv the promotion anymore and they cant do it less than tht. except for 15pound ( i think thts for the lowest speed). I said i cant afford to pay tht much and would like to cancel my subscription. Which will end next month sept.

I thing is only use internet to surf and check email and few other things - no downloading. I dont hv phone line - i dont use it. I need a cheapest breadband. Pls anyone advice me pls on this matter. Should i call virgin back to see if they might offer me or is there any other service which i could use?

i need an advice here pls.

thanks

regards

go onto www.moneysavingexpert.com and find the best price/package for you.
Then, if you want to stay with virgin, phone them up like anywhere at the moment
they will be desperate to keep customers.........

As you don't have a phone line and are only a light user i'd recommend using mobile broadband

You'd have to buy a separate router, something like item number 130322930709 on E-bay.

Mobile broadband is OK it's aimed towards light users so would suit you. It's very easy to set up.

no you would not if it's just two computers you could share the connection with a crossover cable.
