I am so angry so sooooo angry. How anyone could drop Jamie Carragher for Wes Brown is beyond me, my head just can't contemplate it. More proof that the manager is a buffoon, actually thats an insult to buffoons theyre probably more intelligent than him.

And the amount of mistakes and ridiculous challenges he's made already just goes to prove how stupid the decision is.

Oh look theyv'e scored...at long blooming last too... shows how valuable crouch can be

Forget choosing brown over carra, why choose king over him??? why play dyer on the right of midfield when you've got bently? and drop lampard and play with hargreves and Gerrard. i should be the england manager:giggle:
#8
What i saw Dyer did well on the right.
#9
not really i thought he had 3 goal scoring chances and messed all 3 up, i don't mind him playing but when you've got someone like bently, you have to choose him ahead of dyer.

I am italian so i support italy but here goes for my contribution as a football fan.

As a Manchester United season ticket holder i would rather play wes brown over jamie carragher. Not that i am manchester united biased but i see wes brown has had a lot of england past experience. i dont want to check out the stats but i think he has had a lot more caps than carragher, which leads me on to my next point. The only person that accompanies beckham as a right back to right midfield partnership better than Neville is in fact Wes Brown. When you put carragher there he always tends to give the ball central to gerrard because of the liverpool favour. In my opinion this is one of the biggest downfalls in the england team, club team mates favouring one another rather than play the simple pass. It doesnt help that Mclaren doesnt know what he is doing but you can see why he has done a lot of his actions.

Looking at your england situation from an italians point of view is that you build yourselves up to competitions like your the greatest team in the competition. This was shown in the last two world cups. Before the tournaments all you get is, england are gonna win it, england have the best team since 66, this is englands year. The media killed your biggest chance of a trophy (sven goran eriksson) so that is why you will remain to have 3 lions rather than 4 stars!

brown is crap and at best a good defender

carragher is world class

Both are far from world class IMO.More than half the team are billed as world class, but put them up against any 3rd class team and do they show their class....not a bit. It's a constant struggle to grind out results. We are definately not in the class that we think we are.Indivudally at club level these class players do stand out but it's time to face facts that we are just mediocre as a national team.I am very patriotic in supporting England in whatever sport we compete in,but it saddens me to see the level of performance these highly paid stars are turning out.As i say we may be kidding ourselves that we can be great and that the performances they are putting in is in fact their best.

I thought Smith and Carragher were the 2 worst players on the pitch against Brazil, hence they both got dropped.

Carragher is World Class for Liverpool at Centre Back and probably would be for England, but he looks like he will never get that chance (been able to play in other positions hasn't helped him).

Wes Brown is an Ok defender but should be at a team like Boro or Sunderland, where he will get a game and probably look good.

More to the point was it another resounding victory for scotland (i.e. lost by less than 2 goals?)
#15
Wes brown is poor he is no were near the standard of Micah Richards, gary nevile or carra, also brown has had 11 international caps. carra has had 34, and 27 in the u21 team and 3 in the england b team, so carra wins by a mile in experience. He very rarely makes mistakes and is solid, cant say the same for king or brown.

Dyer is a runner and nothing else.
On his day he is great but that doesnt happen too often, but this season if he stays injury free, who knows!?

As a Scot, i totally agree. Doesn't help much that the media is London/Engish centric, so we get it up here all the time, in your face. Building up, up and up, only to fall. Which is fun to watch.

We have a difficult group with Italy and France! I'd take England's group anyday! Although, we did beat France!

No chance we'll qualify, but if we were in any other group, with the performances against the two world cup finalists, we would top of any other group. :-D

Cannot agree more that their group is easier. With italy the problem we have is that we dont perform in qualifying but that is sometimes a good thing so we arn't classed as a great team. I certainly see Scotland qualifying, i think they might just grab another draw with italy and the rest is up to you.
